He'd probably like to have Ronald Reagan as his VP mate too....neither of those things are going to happen. Petraeus has already issued a statement dousing Romney's hopes....couple of hours ago. Drudge didn't carry that one, eh?

A lot of people are thinking that but Rice might bring back memories of the Bush area- I don't think Rice will get women or minorities to swing massively towards Romney.

I don't know, she's sharper than most people in Washington, and even though she served under Bush, I don't consider her a Washington insider. She served, did an outstanding job, and has not been in the media like the rest of the opportunists.

Wasn't he the general who clonked his head on his desk during a live interview not that long ago? No one said what happened.
He should be admitted to a hospital not put on the ticket!

First, what qualifications would a washed up, and largely failed, general have for the job? Second, Romney doesn't do surprises. He's the most white bread, plain vanilla guy in the room. Portman or TPaw would be the two guys I'd predict head the list.

There has been a minor boomlet of talk around Paul Ryan in the past week or so, too. I can't imagine Romney is dumb enough to pick him. Ryan has actually put on paper a proposal that can be scored and shows how horribly flawed and reactionary Republican "reform"really is. But it's possible that Romney has drunk the Kool-Aide and thinks he can peddle chickenshit and sell it as chicken salad. But I think his political people are smarter than that (as shown by his stubborn, and smart unwillingness, to give details on his own tax "plan".)

For someone like you, to call a great man like General Petreaus "washed up and largely failed" is sickening. You're not fit to shine Petreaus' shoes. If you had attempted to do Petreaus' job, you would have failed completely and probably had a nervous breakdown.
