Snuggling and cuddling is rather common. I see 3 older gentlemen regularly that just take me shopping or to dinner and then snuggle under blankets or in a hot tub. They aren't interested in anything else. One has a wife with dementia , one is in a loveless marriage, and one is a widower. I can see wanting comfort and physical contact in those situations. Humans are social animals.
