Well I've never considered seeking a SW and probably never will. My question is are there anyone on here that does or have in the past?

I've driven in just about every part of the city and can't remember ever seeing a def SW.

I've heard that back in the day airline HWY was the place to go for such action.
Does this still exit, or has LE shut down the SWers in Nola?

Back in the day (1979) the first 2 blocks of Decatur Street off Canal St. was wall to wall SW'ers. About 30 of them every night. They literally grabbed your arms as you strolled down the street to solicit you. The 100 block of Decatur St. had a row of Greek bars that catered to the Greek shippers.
You'd pick a girl, go inside one of the Greek bars, pay the bartender $5 to go upstairs to a room. The room was the size of a closet, which consisted of a mattress, box spring and a complimentary roll of toilet paper. No sheets, pillows or towels. You had about 15 minutes to do your thing otherwise the bartender dude would be knocking at your door. Prices were 30 bucks for regular treatment and $35 for VIP. So for $40 bucks ($35 +$5 door fee) you could be treated like a king for about 15 minutes.
The majority of the girls were 2's and 3's but an 8 or 9 would show up regularly. Then sometime in late June of 1979 the NOPD surrounded the whole block and took every one to jail. It made the front cover of the Times Picayune.

Dallas is correct about Harrah's. They aren't standing on the corner. They walk up and down Convention Blvd and Poydras. They're not too obvious about it and they try to blend in. You have to look for certain signals and codes to separate the SW's from the dressed up girls going out on the town.

Lots of the SW's in the quarter used to be TS and travel in pairs. They look for the drunkest tourist, stagger with him to the ATM and roll his ass. I've seen a few girls and TS from Eros or BP working the dive bars in the quarter.

Got called out to the W last time I was in town. I was feeling frisky so I went across the street to see what I could get into. Ended up meeting a young man at Harrah's while at the cigarette machine. We ended up splitting the pac and talking at the bar for and hour or so went to his room. Good thing it was late enough and my initial date wasn't in the lobby or bar . I don't consider myself a street walker.

I've worked Vegas a couple of times but I always made sure looked unassuming; scarf, engagement ring, spectacles...... coy yet still slutty enough to be sniffed out by a horn dog.

Oh, and can you believe this little grungy chick with a where's waldo hat came right up to the guy I was sitting with and tried to get him to go with him. Wow, must be scarce out there.



That's a hell of a story Bababoeuy. Sounds like such a free and liberated time in NOLA. However, I am a serious germ-a-phobe and was cringing at the thought.

Like what? It's often hard for me to tell...Sometimes it's obvious because the girl is walking down the same street over and over...Or she's wearing leather pants in the middle of summer...

I never have and would not recommend going for street wakers in New Orleans, especially french quarter. There have been many shows Undercover Cops on Spike TV...still doing regular busts at random in new orleans (at and near french quarter area). Sometimes female undercover sometimes male undercover. (mostly male uc from tv show, with fem backup) Sadly I also found out that one of our best was also busted for solicitation near FQ. And one I saw that got busted on the show was a regular bp poster in the past both in BR and New Orleans. (I was like wow) People who do sw there go hand in hand with hard drug use, pimps or both. Its amazing what makeup can hide. Most busts occur a few weeks prior to mardi gras (to clear out sw before MardiGras) and randomally during the summer (both to have a cleaner image for tourism)
