Am I a yes man, probably. So far, I have not met a provider I did not like and/or have fun with.
Part of my selection does include reviews, and I don't rule out provider because a bad review. Reviews are 1/3 the selection. For me, it is combined with photos, and pre-sale.

My ECCIE Reviews
|
I have an out-of-state relative who owns a successful small restaurant with her husband. One time we were talking about reviews on yelp. She said most business owners consider there to be basically three type of reviews: the obvious fake good review, the obvious fake bad review, and the legitimate review either good or bad written by some random asshole who thinks their opinion matters to anyone other than themselves. Most customers are astute enough to tell the difference between the three and only care if the majority of the reviews are bad. Obviously unanimous bad reviews are a red flag but anyone who decides not to come in based on one or two bad reviews is probably just doing you a favor.
Pretty much works the same way here...

I never realized how much providers are like restaurants? Most restaurants succeed by word of mouth. It may not be a review in a newspaper, but it is about what the neighbor said when the they went there, or what Joe at work said. Some restaurants require location, and overcharge, and get away with it because of location and marketing. Some restaurants are pricey, and worth the what they charge.
When I am traveling, I have learned it is not the marquee, but travel a couple extra blocks off the main drag, and eat where the locals eat, there you will find good service, and good food, and hospitality.
My opinions, Eccie reviews should be more like "what did Joe say?", was it worth the time? Don't get to carried away by it all.
Some people like Greek (LOL), others Italian, some like Soul Food. So if a person enjoys Greek, they want to know about the Greek restaurants....

Actually, just like providers, more and more restaurants are being reviewed by customers online, at sites like Urbanspoon, Yelp, Tripadvisor, etc. And just like provider reviews, there are probably fakes also!

Now if she ignores you on here, will she see it on the leak site? Can she ignore you there too? Inquiring minds want to know!

Fact is there's only a handfull of ladies with the guts to post here on a regular basis.
While I don't agree with MS E 80% of the time, she does liven up the conversation..
Just wish she would realize that everything goes down better with a little sugar on it, including attitude.
But thats her style.

well I have been known to change a quote.
PG, would it help you if she also had a "on thin ice" list? just to be more/less confusing.
