What kind of stock trading system has you enter quantities in letters rather than numbers?

Typing out the word "Billion" instead of putting in a number? And the system doesn't have a sanity check of some sort when you order a "Billion" of something?

Sounds like someone started spinning a good yarn and the reporters passed it around and their editors were too stupid or uncaring to sanity check it. Who cares about facts when you have a juicy story that will get your Nielsen ratings up?

I suspect the numbers were "correct" in some sense. Lots of people wanted to sell. Nobody was willing to buy. There were more sell orders than buy orders at any price, so some smart cookie put in a buy order for a $100 stock at a ridiculously low price and the order got filled.

By the way, if you're ever buying or selling stock, NEVER!!! NEVER!!! place a "market" order, only use a "limit" order. A limit order says something like "Sell 100 shares XYZ stock at the best price, but not below $99." If you place a "market" order on a $100 stock, it could legitimately sell at $50 if the market glitches low like it did last week.

If you know enough to place "stop" orders, be sure to place a "stop limit" order. A "stop" order turns into a "market" order if the trigger gets hit. By the way, even a stop limit order can get hit and make you sell when you really "shouldn't" have due to "glitches" like this, so watch any stop orders closely.

A long time ago, "limit" orders were more expensive or difficult to do, but it shouldn't be a problem these days. Broker fees and restrictions are much less due to the electronic order systems.

No story about a typo. I don't find much humor in a person's grammatical errors.

I have never done an overnight where the lady didnt verify the rate at somepoint before meeting and while booking. I find that somewhat outlandish that she would not have inquired or insured your inquiry was in line with her rate. I know money and services are somewhat a no no discussed in this business, but after screening especially if she was verified and reputable I cant fathom her never inquiring or hinting at what her rate was. Wow unbelievable.

The fact that she stayed even after that an had an overnight with u is somewhat unbelievable.....but Im sure its possible as no one wants a bad rep for service from a typo. You did nothing wrong though, but man that must have sucked for her.

Very good points. . .looking back we should have ended the evening. . .maybe I would still be seeing her now. . .the lessons we learn, eh?

I am not sure how much it sucked for her. She ended up with $500.00 and we really only did BCD activity twice (and while I am no stud, I usually manage to make it a good time for the lady) and she had a wonderful dinner at a nice restaurant and a large breakfast in an upscale room with a spa at a fancy hotel with unlimited room service including an open bar--which she used quite a bit (lol)--so all said and done I thought it was a fair transaction even if it was awkward.
