Just wondering.

I was talking with a bartender friend I've known for awhile today. Telling her about a trip I was planning. She indicated that she would go in a heartbeat with me because she's always wanted to go to Australia. She grabbed my hands and said "you know we'd have fun!" So I get she's pretty much offering the gfe for a trip. lol She's hot, but I don't know how I could explain her on this trip. Wouldn't fly too well so to speak. But that got me thinking if providers go on trips like this with long time regulars. Has anyone done this (provider or regular) and how did it turn out? Also I got to thinking about the cost. Airfare, meals, hotel, travel there, and shopping alone is pretty expensive. What would providers be expecting as compensation for their time? No serious plans of doing this in the near future, but like I said the conversation today just got me thinking.

I'm not saying it can't be done (in fact, nothing of the sort!) just make sure you 1. are compatible with and trust the girl before you go on a trip and 2. discuss compensation/expected services and availability before you leave. Basically, if you go with a lady (especially a provider) make sure you two are on the same page about how much you will pay out of pocket and how much (if any) compensation comes from the trip itself. I would be weary of taking a civilian along since they may not have the same mindset as you.

Like I said, I think compatibility and trustworthiness of the girl is key here. Make sure you know the girl so you can be comfortable that she won't ditch you or not put out on the trip. For me, if I had the time and money, I would love to take Pepper to Vegas/Tahoe, assuming she were up for such a misadventure. LOL But, that will probably have to wait several years until financial peace and stability finds its way into my life.

I feel only you and the lady involved are the ones who can set fee involvment; time management; and exactly anything else that may be part of any endeavor such as this. Accept and appreciate sane suggestions; however, forego any soap boxing or preaching on the subject.

haha very true. Caveat venditor as well I imagine. I am only spinning the wheels that were set in motion in my head earlier. I am very far from actually even contemplating such an endeavor. Be it civilian or provider it would most certainly someone I have gained trust in. I would have to experience certain situations with them prior to any travel whatsoever. For instance, alcohol is a mukti headed demon in hot chicks I've found out. lol It can go 3 ways I suppose; crying, fighting, or really fun.

oh, I have come to expect it. lol I am a curious person by nature so just trying to gain information for now. I will listen to all, but pay attention to what I feel deserves it. Everything else I will take with a grain of salt and try to find the entertainment value in it if I can. Thanks.

Go with your gut I say, It is usually knows best. Lots of folks can speculate but you know you and the other person involved and the unspoken details of how things work for the two of you. Do set expectations up front.

On a side note-- its Australia! Enjoy what the lovely ladies there have to offer, the others will be here when you get back

I don't think any hobbyist should consider a vacation with anyone unless you're prepared to cover the expenses. Something like this...isn't a last minute type of thing...it has to be carefully planned and negotiated.

I read that she's a civillian and sounds like a friend...doesn't sound as if she is looking for compensation other than the trip. My question is...why wouldn't she *fit* into such a trip? Are you traveling with an SO or work associates? If so...she could sit by herself on the plane...would be fun and mysterious! (lol)

I've been on many trips...all have gone well. As for other providers...each provider has a different compensation package. Some may just be willing to go on vacation...while others will expect much more. Plan and negotiate...that's my advice.

Nikki, I love the way you think. lol If it were for work it'd actually be doable to have her tag along inconspicuously. And that does sound fun. But I was not thinking about this trip. Just kinda curious about the whole idea. This trip is the kind that might turn from 14 days to a couple months. Visiting family and friends, so who knows. I would be crazy to attempt to take a playmate on a trip like this. Even if the SO wasn't going. lol Just looking for some fuel to add to the fire in my mind that the initial conversation started I suppose.

dpsatx...one of my clients flew me to meet him toward the end of his conference. I stayed three days and had tons of fun! An extended trip is only successful...when two people have chemistry and enjoy spending time together. If the *guest* is only it for the $'s...the trip may not end up well.

Nothing wrong with thinking *out loud!* I'd bet you and your bartender friend would have a blast. She sounded as if she was really into your idea...and, obviously she enjoys your company. Now, the only thing is EXPENSES...what a bummer! (lol)

Nikki, it was actually her idea. lol But yeah, we get along and have known each other a while. Yeah, that's what I'd be afraid of. Solely for the money doesn't sound like a good time for either. Yeah, EXPENSES! Haha, you'd be surprised how much having your college roommate as your accountant can benefit you come tax time. :-)
