how to have your information taken off the internet ? i had got busted & they told me my mugshut was going to be in the local paper . i really didnt mind since i wasnt from there & wasnt planning on returning . BUT when i got home the next day my sister had called to inform me that ALL my case details & mugshot was all over the internet . i was wondering if anyone knows how to maybe take that down or if theres any legal action i can take ?

Once your mugshot and info is in the paper or the internet there is nothing that you can do.Its public record.

To hack into a civil service mainframe and remover your information..........yes.

But you don't have that much money and you don't have any connections to a hacker with these type of skills and if you made an attempt to contact such a hacker they most likely would contact the po-po and turn you in.

Your chances of getting it removed depends on where the information is published on the web.

If it is on a true government site then you are basically screwed. Most of those are not indexed by Google or other search engines which is some comfort.

Then there are the commercial sites that are taking advantage of the freedom of information or "sunshine" laws in certain states to gather mugshots and booking information to publish commercially. If it those sites that are publishing your information you may have some options to get it taken down.

Whether you are eligible to have criminal background information (including arrest information that's posted on a government web site) expunged (i.e., deleted or destroyed) depends on the laws in the state where the charge was filed. If you PM me with with the basic information regarding your arrest, such as the state, the charge, and the disposition (i.e., the outcome) of your case, I may be able to tell you whether the information may be expunged.

btw, information that's published on a non-government, private, for-profit web site such as www.PublicData.com comes from government agencies. If the information is deleted by the government agency, eventually it should no longer show up on the private web sites.

Unless your ambition is to become a serial offender, I certainly wouldn't suggest that you hire someone to hack into a LE computer to delete the information. I'm not an authority on computer crime. But having practiced criminal law for more than 29 years, I may be an expert on the mindset of cops. If you were caught deleting or attempting to delete information from a LE computer, I think there would be a chance you would be charged with a felony, maybe even a federal felony.

I also find it a bit disconcerting that you would discuss committing such a crime in a public forum such as this. It just ain't common sense. And a determined LE agent could probably pierce your supposed veil of anonymity here. It's happened before to other posters who openly discussed committing a felony.

Get a website that is your name johndoe.com or what ever.
Then submit it to as many search engines as you can.

When someone googles your name it will force that to come up putting the rest of the information at a lower end.

That is a start.

Get a gmail address with your name on it and go to cooking forums, etc and post there using your real name. Anything you can do have it search for that instead of what you dont want them to see.

Aside from setting off a number of EMP devices worldwide that stuff is there to find no matter what you do. Come to think of it, even then backups in sheltered underground locations would still have it but then not many normal folks would be able to see it.

Second(cheaper better) option is make it harder to find or buried under tons of stuff as mentioned above.

Otherwise, could you talk to a lawyer about expungement? I'm not sure how that would affect the internet, but it might help with actual criminal and background checks.

Otherwise, could you legally change your name? Wouldn't be helpful with the cops, but at least a hotel clerk wouldn't be able to search you if they got suspicious.
