Yes.
Legend has it that one evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

That's certainly one way of looking at it.
I took the meaning of Monger (As applicable to This thread) as one who actively hires providers period. Not as one who contributes to hobby related threads.
It was my impression that was the intended meaning of the OP. I could be wrong. If monger includes those who simply communicate with those who do then yes I am currently a monger. No problem there. If so the question itself is loaded because the only ones here to answer the question itself are Mongers.
Perhaps, but, again, just MHO, participation at any level would seem to qualify, again, just my opinion.
For the record she does know that I've hobbied. There's nothing to forgive in that regard. I doubt she would consider posting cheating although she might not be too keen on it. Then again knowing her she wouldn't mind as long as she could contribute which of course she can't. However the board isn't important enough for me to find out.
Be straight up with what you really mean instead of this wimpy assed passive aggressive BS.
I think I was straight up. I have been asked the same question by someone that knows me and doesn't understand why I stay around the board. Perhaps your reaction is to my POV is somewhat telling.
In one breath you say you are Not suggesting I stop posting yet in the same statement you question why I am even bothering to participate.
Contributing constructive insights has Nothing to do with booking sessions as an "Active" monger.
Never once did I suggest that you or anyone else leave. I said that I felt that the only way to stop (like quitting many other habits) is to stop. I stated that I personally do not hobby much myself so if I you thought that I was implying that if you aren't buying pie you needed to leave the cafe, you mistook my meaning. Many contribute here without booking sessions. I simply stated that I believed that person(s) on both sides can leave or quit, but I believe that for most of us this hobby has too strong of a pull for us to hang around after we have quit. Note I said most of us, some are stronger than others.
I know for a fact that there are other very active posters here who although they are involved indirectly to the hobby world do Not hire or at least for a very very long stretch did not hire providers while continuing to be the most active posters on the board.
I admitted being one of them.
If you are passively hinting I leave the board because I am not actively fucking providers then while it has been fun it would be absolutely no skin off of my nose.
Not hinting anything. I stated pretty clearly that I like your posts and contributions. Most that know me know that I don't "hint".
I wouldn't miss posting either so in that sense my original answer to Sixx's question still stands.
Yes some mongers could stop being mongers in a heartbeat. In fact I stopped posting for about a year until the past few months so it is hardly a hardship to stop permanantly.
Ball's in your court. If you would like the posts to discontinue. It's all good. I do have a life. This site for me is pure entertainment when bored and nothing more.
|
Ball is not in my court at all. You will decide what you want to do and whether you want to continue to participate or not at what ever level you want or desire. I guess that what I was trying to say (and you seemed to take so personally) is that speaking for me, the only way I could "quit" would be to leave this and all other facets of hobbying. I think that this holds true for many as I have seen many "quit" (both providers and hobbiests) but stay in proximity and before long they were back. The pull was too strong.

Whoa, that's deep.
Though, since I don't see it explicitly covered in the two wolves, I suppose we all have a third wolf... the horny one.

Can't be much commitment with all the time you have to hang out here...
That's just how I'm wired. I've never even cheated.
No judgment of others who can. You tend to be very judgmental at times...
Another factor is that I never started hobbying out of any emotional need.
That's a load of crap if I ever saw one..... Your involvement here fills some emotional need..... your getting laid probably surrounds a lot of conversation for feel good time...
After a recent breakup with the GF I have indeed been intellectually pondering dipping my wick back in the water
do you type with your pinkie extended to the side?
but the reason I haven't is that I no longer have much desire or heart for it. Now she wants to work things out as a few weeks of absence has given her a new perspective
"HER" a new perspective? Two back to backs and a monger when not involved and it is "HER"? hmmmm you probably went whining back begging for another chance.....
so it looks like I will continue being a monger only on the boards. This is especially the case considering we have always been extremely compatible sexually with No covers required.
Why was that a needed part of your post? We are all bare backing the girl we are involved with...... Like your getting something special? She probably was bare backing the dude that filled in for you the last two weeks as well! You might want to check around... I think Thor had a SB wannabe that only lasted 2 weeks that he kicked free yesterday.....
So I would say YES! Some mongers can easily quit the hobby depending upon the reason that they are in it.
|
uh huh.... see if you can make a relationship last beyond a year without the needed participation here to fill your emotional and "intellectual" holes..... then come back and tel us all about it...

I don't know, there is just something special about the adoration given by a man you just meet or don't see often. The way he is in awe of you. After a year or two (sometimes sooner), men seem to get board no matter how fine and intriguing a woman is. If not board, definitely not as intrigued as they were initially. I can't stand that!
I enjoy having a boyfriend and being in a relationship, but it doesn't mean I would want to give up seeing other men in a p4p arena. I would also encourage my SO to get a little p4p action every once in a while; just so he wouldn't get, you know, board.
Oh yeah, not having to wait 2 weeks for a paycheck and not having to report to a boss is awesome.
People always say, find a job doing something you love to do!

I can say she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever known. She reminds me of a hispanic Terri Hatcher.
Anyway, we met and hit it off. This started a months long affair. You would think that I would be satisfied sexually now. We did quite a bit and not much was off limits. The crazy thing was that I was still seeing others (civie) and still in the street scene.
Eventually, she ended the affair. She told me she felt so guilty and we could not have anything positive with all the lies. We lost contact for a while but time heals all wounds and we are on FB etc. I have had her on my mind lately.
Mongers, even with a woman who is hot, you don't pay for enough to keep the monger out? Or is it true that once you have the taste of the monger life, you can never go back?
Providers, do you think its possible for a monger to change? Can you change from provider mode to civie ?
