Hey Little Timmy, I have a typo in my latest post (about Constitutional law) can you please review for typos so the thread gets bumped again, and again, and again?

Thanks Little Timmy.

Sound sensible? Or are you advocating the revocation of all regulations regarding the safe production of milk so that a couple of dozen amish farmers can sell their milk to a couple of hundred weirdos who like amish milk?

Second, one woman....out of the hundreds of thousands of people that fly every day, can't get to her destination because of the lack of a female TSA person to search her? That doesn't sound like a calamity that is an immediate threat to my freedom. Don't get me wrong, I fly a lot and totally agree that what we have to go through at security checkpoints at airports is an ineffective security measure that irritates the shit out of me. But it's a few minutes out of my life, not the end of my god-given freedoms.

As with COG's endless "The sky is falling, we are losing our freedom" nonsense, these examples of our supposed loss of freedom are not the kind of thing that are making me lay awake at night. It's mostly made-up politically driven bullshit designed to stir up the repukes to try to get them to turn out and vote for the GOP clowns running for POTUS. If a republican is elected, we'll stop hearing about it, even though nothing will change in regard to Amish milk sales and the occasional Wyoming traveler being delayed, because the conservative entertainment machine will stop harping on it, and people like you, who rely on the conservative entertainment industry for their opinions, will stop repeating it.

Carry on.

Bubba Blue just wanted to go home too.
Look what he got.

There is no "right" to fly. You have the right to cross state lines. No one is under an obligation to provide you with a means to do so.

Didn't you post something about being childish?

Other than this post?

Fascinating that you think so. Why do you suppose the über-liberal Huffy failed to include that remark in its article and chose to re-word the title of the study?

I have commented on titles not matching stories many times. It usually involves a whirly post. Today I didn’t read the story or go to a link. The portion of the comment I lifted from your post summed up my take on the issue of extremists on either side, party or political philosophies not withstanding.

As to why, I don’t presume to know or pretend to care.

It's a position you and I share.

Low IQ & Conservative Beliefs Linked to Prejudice
Stephanie Pappas, LiveScience Senior Writer
Date: 26 January 2012 Time: 10:29 AM ET

. . . Attitudes toward other races were captured by measuring agreement with statements such as "I wouldn't mind working with people from other races." (These questions measured overt prejudiced attitudes, but most people, no matter how egalitarian, do hold unconscious racial biases; Hodson's work can't speak to this "underground" racism.)

As suspected, low intelligence in childhood corresponded with racism in adulthood. . .

. . . Hodson was quick to note that the despite the link found between low intelligence and social conservatism, the researchers aren't implying that all liberals are brilliant and all conservatives stupid. The research is a study of averages over large groups, he said.

"There are multiple examples of very bright conservatives and not-so-bright liberals, and many examples of very principled conservatives and very intolerant liberals," Hodson said. . .

. . . there are other possible explanations that fit the data. For example, Nosek said, a study [not this study] of left-wing liberals with stereotypically naïve views like "every kid is a genius in his or her own way," might find that people who hold these attitudes are also less bright. In other words, it might not be a particular ideology that is linked to stupidity, but extremist views in general. . .

I now know why but still really don't care.

Both livescience and huffington are stories about the original study. You would not expect both stories to be the same or have the same title. Hodson sent an email to livescience that contains all of the Hodson quotes used and Brian Nosek, a social and cognitive psychologist at the University of Virginia contributed to the livescience article.

The statement “In other words, it might not be a particular ideology that is linked to stupidity, but extremist views in general.” was written by S. Pappas, the author of the livescience article.

The original study was published Jan 5th with the title:

Bright Minds and Dark Attitudes

Lower Cognitive Ability Predicts Greater Prejudice Through Right-Wing Ideology and Low Intergroup Contact

How ironic for Munch to weigh in on this issue.

What's ironic is you having the signature you do.

I've stated my opinion about any type of extremist.

Extremism in the pursuit of liberty will surly kill it.

And moderation in the pursuit of justice is exactly what's needed.
