Super Bowl or Daytona 500?

Since the 500 always follows the Super Bowl by a couple of weeks some of the ads that appear in the Super Bowl will appear on the 500 as well. Also, there are also other commercials that appear on the 500 that are just as entertaining.

For me it's no question either... The Super Bowl of course! I'd rather watch paint dry or grass grow than watch any neckcar race. That is SOOOO boring until there is a wreck... Just mho

I vote for the 500. But I don't usually watch all of it.

Didn't Big E once say, "Watch the first 10 laps and then the last 20 laps." Or something like that?

I'd say Indy 500 if they'd take off the restricter plates. I don't like the tandem racing they used last year. I want to see some real racing like the old days.

I have to admit I was very surprised by one person's answer to this survey and hope you don't mind me asking, Mr. Manster711, why you chose NASCAR over football when your handle is football-related? I have big love for Randy White (half-man/half-monster = Manster) and can even remember watching him and Harvey Martin share MVP honors in 1978 when the Cowboys flattened the "Orange Crush," Denver Broncos...so why NASCAR?

To be honest I find watching a full car race to be quite boring. I can probably watch the last fifty laps but not a whole race. The weird part of this dichotomy is I love me some Gran Turisom on PS3. Go figure! However, I fully understand the expereince can be better at a live event. So it is Super Bowl all the way.

I did watch a fascinating documentary last week of how NASCAR originated from yes...Moonshine Running. Of course NASCAR states that it is only a small part of the story. But not surprissed by that disclamer.

Damn I think I'm in love! LOL A beautiful woman that loves football, the Cowboys and remembers the Boys glory days! Randy White was my favorite player of all time, the defenses they had in those days were some of the best ever!

I lived in inpls durning the daytone 500 and its grate with all of the parties and just like any Super Bowl city that they host.

This was in the midwest. He was an auto mechanic by trade and worked
on race cars for owners. During the pre WW II years he drove in county fair races all over our home state and nearby states. After the war he bought his own car and still drove. But after an accident that crippled a friend of the family he gave it up. He gave one
well known driver his start by hireing him to drive his car. He's is in the drivers hall of fame in our home state.

Oh, so your pop was part of NASCAR before it was NASCAR? Like maybe in it's infancy? Those guys were real daredevils I imagine. What kind of speed did they average?
