Nope. Opposed from the start. One of the reasons I was excited about Obama being elected was he promised to bring them all home. Turns out, he was just another lying politician. He is one of the reasons I will never vote for a Democrat or Republican ever again.

So, you voted for Obama? Or you were just excited when he was elected?

There's an old saying about how it's easy to start a war, not so much when it comes to bringing one to an end. Much to the GOP's consternation, he has essentially ended our combat involvement in Iraq. Now, we're pulling out of Afghanistan in 2013 per Panetta. Again, with GOP squawking.

Both were a goat-fuck and both were brought about by GOP lies and misinformation, with the mess left for Obama to try to clean up. You blaming Obama for what is going on in Afghanistan right now is nonsense. He inherited a shitty situation and you should acknowledge that, and try to exhibit some basic understanding of the combat tactical situation on the ground when he came into office. Disengaging combat troops from an ongoing conflict is not as simple as just telling them to get on the plane home. Promises were made to our allies by Obama's predecessors and he inherited those issues.

I get that you will never do that because you are a cheap-seat observational asshole in virtually every political scenario, thereby preserving your status as appearing to be "right" about everything.

Are you referring to Israel which Truman helped establish and preserve? Or maybe Mubarak in Egypt? Obama's done a great job honoring those promises.

He'd have been better off keeping the promises he made to us. And I don't "appear" to be right about everything, I AM right about everything. Watch and learn.

Current researchers maintain Truman was very much pro-Israel; especially when compared with FDR, e.g., A Safe Haven: Harry S. Truman and the Founding of Israel by Ronald & Allis Radosh. While Britain backed Arab interests in the 1st Arab-Israeli War, the U.S. supported Israel with weapons and pro-Israeli diplomacy.

Obama is going to pull us out of Afghanistan but not till after the election. Every credible expert in the region is saying that within one year of us leaving, the Taliban will come out of their caves and be in control of the country again. Your average Afghan national lives in a mud-hut and does not care about al-qaeda or jihad, he just wants to herd his goats in peace. The Taliban let him do this.

And what about 'she' and 'her', what does the Taliban have for them?

IB, you know the answer to that better than most having been there. We can not save the world from itself, nor even try. We can't even seem to keep this tribal cult from spreading to our own country.

When did I ever say either one of those things? You, like so many others, like to make stuff up, knock it down, then congratulate yourself on how smart you are. Let me know how that works for you.
