Mayor Bloomberg: Lets blame guns
On Face the Nation New York Mayor Bloomberg came all out against "illegal guns". He blamed those "illegal guns" for the number of murders around the country. Those "illegal guns" had even shot a cop in New York City. Bloomberg called for new federal laws against "illegal guns" while defending the second amendment.
What is an "illegal gun"? Bloomberg never said. What are these laws? Bloomberg never said? Who shot these cops (one was shot and killed in December and another shot this week)? It certainly wasn't a gun on the run. They have not arrested anyone for the cop killed in December. The person they want for the cop shot this week is Louis "baby" Ortiz who is already wanted for another murder. Is this really about "illegal guns"? No, this is about the wrong people having guns and lack of enforcement of current gun laws.
You can have a car that is not street legal and you could call that an illegal car but we have more laws about people illegally driving cars. There are no illegal guns only people that should not have legal access to guns that the authorities are refusing to prosecute (most of the time gun charges are thrown out in the bargaining phase).

If guns were illegal, how many less murders would we have? How many less people in prison?
Think about it.
I'm sure you will find the right answer: TOTAL GUN CONTROL.
No single person should own or use a gun!!!!
But hey, america is a war hungry country, so of course people want guns.
My personal opinion: NO ONE SHOULD HAVE / OWN / USE a gun except for LE.

So we ban guns and all the legal, honest citizens turn in their guns Crime disappears right? Well, if it wasn't for the drug cartels, the gangbangers, the professional criminals, the ultra-violent illegal alien gangs, and a random terrorist or two then crime might go down. I doubt it. Some of the lowest homicide rates in the world are in countries were gun ownership is required. They are few and far between. Many countries ban guns and the US sits somewhere inside. At one end (England) we have a total ban and a rate of 1.41 homicides per 100,000 population. At the other end we have required ownership (Norway, Switzerland, Israel) with rates of .97, 1.32, and 2.32. The guns required to be owned are assualt rifles. I threw in Israel because their at war inside their country and their homicide rate is not much higher than gun ban England. These are 2006 numbers and for the record the rate for the US is 5.7. Everywhere concealed carry has been introduced the crime rate and homicide rate have dropped. The evidence is pretty clear to a rational person; introducing more legal weapons reduces crimes and murder.

Ok, ban guns. Just repeal the 2nd Amendment, and make it happen. Oh, I forgot. Wave doesn't care about the Constitution. It just gets in the way. Well, it used to. Not so much anymore.

Ok, Wave, how many of those were by guns? Are you saying that if Venezuela and Russia had stricter gun control laws, their murder rates would go down? They have many more homicides than the US. I didn't know guns were so easy to get over there.
Or maybe it is people killing people.
But don't misread our 2nd Amendment. It is not to protect hunting, or even protection from burglars and attackers. It is there so the people may protect themselves from their government.

Good call, intentional homicide is not the same thing as firearm homicides. Of course, Germany in the 1930s had very strict gun control and did the Soviet Union.

Mexico also has strict gun laws. It's almost impossible to obtain a permit unless you know somebody.

Gun controll is not really the problem.
It's the fact that when there is no gun control that brings so many more guns into the trade that don't belong there.
Authorities lose control because people lose guns, (or secretly sell them, or they get stolen)
If I was a smart criminal or killer, would I use a registered gun? Of course not.
There are way too many unregistered guns in circulation.
