You can actually post nude pictures and facebook would not know unless someone clicked the link saying the image was offensive. I accidentally (it seriously was) posted a picture showing off my progress in the gym taken in my mirror. I was naked but thought the picture didn't show from the waist down. Turns out it showed just a little too much at the base and I had many comments about it within the first 20 minutes of posting it. I was away from my computer but ended up removing the picture a few hours later. Facebook never knew. So if you set your gallery to only yourself or only certain friends no one will know.
As far as this article, I have to agree it's probably inaccurate. Most people over the age of 18 have a facebook account so in that sense substitute the word prostitute with whatever you want and a majority of them use facebook. I would say backpage still has facebook trumped.
I don't see facebook as any place I would want to advertise discreet dates...ZOIKS!
