That's ridiculous. The opposing party always wants to make the president a one term president.

COG true but there's a big difference in saying let's hope he will be a one term President and let's make him a one term President- the operative word is "make" meaning you will do everything in your power to make him look bad- that's putting politics and party over the Country - in other words you are going to do nothing to increase his chances of winning- do you also remember when it was stated that if we pass Obama's jobs bill it's going to ensure him re-election in Nov??? http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0911/63214.html
Do you see the difference????

Exclamation Raving Lunatics

There is no shortage of raving lunatics in this world.

This country was on the brink of disaster when Bush finished fucking it up one side and down the other.

President Obama had to deal with the worst recession since the Great Depression, but he has reversed the downward spiral in spite of the obstacles thrown in his way by the opposition solely to weaken him without regard for the good of the country.

Unfortunately, there is really no way to reason with those people who hate President Obama anymore than you could have reasoned with the people who hated President Lincoln or Roosevelt or any other great President.

The problem is that too many people have too much hatred and they need to project out to someone.

Sometimes, the convenient target is the President, but

. . . sometimes it's just Fast Gunn!

I guess you're too young to remember the 70s Fast Gunn. Unemployment was high, inflation was higher, the military was in a shambles, and Jimmy Carter was bumbling around adjusting thermostats in the White House. He also took time to lower the speed limit to 55 mph and had all the highway exit ramps since then built to a 55 mph standard. We used to be able exit a highway without having to slam on our brakes in order not to leave the road. The bank was taken out and we have brake now, then we have to speed back up again wasting gas.

Geeze, bring back the days when all we had to worry about were blue dresses and cum stains.....God I get so sick of this Obama, No Bush, Obama, No Bush.....All I know is that Obama is a typical Chicago politico.....spin the story where the only way to fix the problem (what ever it is) is to give the government more money....and please don't judge the results, just the intentions....WE thought there were more "shovel" ready jobs, WE thought solar panels were a good idea, We think that the pipeline will destroy ground water in Nebraska.....and on the other side....WE thought Iraq had nukes....WE thought the banks needed a bail out....
Left wing, Right wing....same fucking chicken....
Shut down D.C. ....Starve the beast.

Exclamation Debt Hangover

I think it was actually, Texas Governor, Dolph Briscoe who first proposed the 55 mph and then Nixon adopted that measure in 1973.

I think the fundamental problem is that the entire world and especially the United States needs to learn to be thrifty once more.

. . . Right now, it is like the world is suffering from a debt hangover.

Yeah, but it is a difference in semantics. Do you think the Democrats didn't do all they could to make Bush a one termer? In fact, both Bushes? The Republicans did all they could to limit Clinton to one term, but Clinton outfoxed them by moving right.

The only difference is that the Republicans are more honest about it this time, and if a Republican is elected, you can be sure that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will do everything they can to make sure that person is a one termer. Obama isn't being treated differently by the opposing party than any other President has been. Except maybe Washington.

I have an idea. Let's quit electing Democrats or Republicans and see what happens. It's worth a try.

I see two accomplishments.

1. The President has managed to divide the country along Racial Lines greater than any other President in the past 50 years.

2. The President has managed to divide the country along economic lines more than any other President in the past 50 years.

Keep in mind, this is exactly what he wants to do.
