Waco Kid's College Football Bowl Games
"Rules?? We don't need no stinkin’ rules!”
Actually we do.
WKWCFR rule 1
"Lies, damn lies and statistics!"
British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli
If you quote a stat, record, 3rd down conversion rate, an all-time mark or the number of jock straps an 85-man team needs ...
Post it! If you can't post a link to it, it's bogus!
What's valid in the Internet age? Just about anything! Any of the major sports publications, local newspapers, any of the big networks and official school and NCAA sites just to cover the big ones.
WKWCFR rule 2
Predictions must be posted 1 day in advance! If you haven't read the sports page and figgured out who's going to win by the day before ya never will!
Must be time stamped before Midnight the day before game-day, for any weekly games Thur-Sun on the current weekly schedule.
So there you have it, pretty basic! You can post on general topics of your favorite teams regardless of that week's opponent. Just remember WKWCFR rule 1

Who did TCU piss off to get downgraded to playing La. Tech?
Sorry, but after LSU, the rest of the Louisiana schools are way down the food chain.

You Cowpokes drew a great match-up. Stanford. Offense vs. Offense. Ya know it's usually defense and special teams that turn these type of games. I'm leanin' toward you Cowpokes when i post my BCS game picks. Force a turnover or two and i think you can take "Lucky" boy out.

BCS MATCHUPS
ROSE
Site: Pasadena, Calif.
Date: Jan. 2
Time/TV: 5 p.m./ESPN
Matchup: Oregon (11-2) vs. Wisconsin (11-2)
Winner: Oregon
Ducks should be healthy again and the Badgers won't be able to keep up with Oregon's speed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FIESTA
Site: Glendale, Ariz.
Date: Jan. 2
Time/TV: 8:30 p.m./ESPN
Matchup: Oklahoma State (11-1) vs. Stanford (11-1)
Winner: Oklahoma St.
This is one of the best match-ups of the whole Bowl series. Usually a turnover or big defense/special teams play turns a game like this. Edge Cowpokes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUGAR
Site: New Orleans
Date: Jan. 3
Time/TV: 8:30 p.m./ESPN
Matchup: Michigan (10-2) vs. Virginia Tech (11-2)
Winner: Michigan
Va Tech as usual stumbled late while Michigan surged.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ORANGE
Site: Miami
Date: Jan. 4
Time/TV: 8 p.m./ESPN
Matchup: Clemson (10-3) vs. West Virginia (9-3)
Winner: Clemson
Clemson also stumbled but blew out Va Tech in impressive fashion to win the ACC, West Va won't be able to stop all of Clemson's weapons.

BCS TITLE GAME
Site: New Orleans
Date: Jan. 9
Time/TV: 8:30 p.m./ESPN
Matchup: LSU (13-0) vs. Alabama (11-1)
Winner: LSU
Going all in with Lester. Alabama did not really improve after losing to LSU while LSU did. Just ask Arkansas and UGA.

I wonder what the long layoffs do to all of the teams. I can take some comfort in knowing Alabama has been off a week longer than LSU.

LSU is going to kick 'Bama's ass. 17-15 Bama scores it's only TD late and goes for 2 and LSU stuffs them.

Unlike the NFL, i do think the long layoff affects the teams in bowl games. Still no excuse for losing a Bowl game but it does break the hot streaks some teams are on at the end of the season, especially on offense.
Which is why we need a gotdamn College playoff!! Then like the Steelers a few years back in the NFL a team that peaks at season's end doesn't lose that edge after waiting up to 5-6 weeks for the next game.
The 2 week gap for the Super Bowl is needed in the NFL. Even in the 12 and 14 game eras the idea was to give the League champions a week to rest up, it was supposed to help the teams be fresher given the roster limits in the NFL and the grind of an NFL season. The lamest Super Bowl loser's excuse is they were "stale" after the 2 week break. The NFL to avoid blow-outs tried eliminating the week off and it didn't help, they quickly dropped the idea.
in the case of the BCS title game the extra week won't really help Bama, both teams will be well rested if nothing else. Now how sharp they play could be a different story but still no excuse, the Bowls have had a break before the games since the Bowl era began, in part for the rest but also to align with the year end Holidays. And in the really good old days it also was supposed to allow the student-athlete to finish fall classes. Imagine that.
