It's definitely not worth spending $1500 for a provider website unless you are an agency. What I've learned is that a good programmer designs solutions that meet the needs of his/her clients. A individual provider's site is far different from a Fortune 500 site that has a million users hitting it at once, multiple data sources, and thousands of dynamically generated application pages, ect.
Well-done pictures and an intimate, cozy look-and-feel seem to go a long ways in the provider website business. I'd recommend that an easy place to start would be with a free site editor:
http://www.pagebreeze.com/
or try Coffeecup, ect..
They will allow you to build websites for free, and you can build some very impressive websites if you have enough persistence and artistic flair.

alluringava: this is really a timely post by you as I noticed today that you are in Dallas by the Galleria... when looking into your profile on P411, I went to see if you had a website and all I saw was a broken link to redbook and EROS.... for me, that was a reason to reconsider reaching out to you...
That said, I agree with what Cpalmson wrote - the cheapie/free flash sites look just that - cheap...
my perspective is if it is worth doing, do it to the highest quality you can - as a tech-nerd / former investment banker / current mgmt consulting partner, I can refernence many examples where the right message, in the right format, with the right mix of features that reflects your personal "brand", can acheive financial investment B/E in only a few weeks,.... the go-forward "total cost of ownership" is minimal, vs. the incremental revenue that you will see..... , again, depending on how hard you leverage the additional exposure

The link to redbook should not be broken, neither should the link to erosguide. It's here on the showcase too I think. Erosguide has been having problems lately which is why I don't plan to use it when I come to Dallas. And yes, I am getting a website very soon...and not a cheap one LOL. Aphrodite Design.com does a beautiful job for very reasonable prices. I can't wait to get one done. Thank you for alerting me to that link though. It's why I should just put it in my signature, but it is listed on Eccie on my showcase photos.
My ideal site is one like my friend has here: it's classy, elegant, clean, and straightforward: www.jewelmonet.com

As someone who specializes in high-end sites, I have a bit of an issue with this statement.. To me this sounds just like when someone says that certain providers are 'crazy' to charge higher rates than others. If someone feels that's what her time is worth and her clientele agree and are willing to pay it, then who are we to say what the rules should be.
My clients are super picky, and they pay $1500 and even more to get exactly what they want. I recently released a site that ran well over $4k after all was said and done. The client wanted a flash version, four non-flash versions in four different languages, a mobile site, and 'private' design, which means she did not want our name or design credit on it. I won't link to it here for obvious privacy reasons (anyone curious feel free to pm me for a link) but my point is that for someone to say that 'no' independent site should ever cost $1500 is just a little presumptuous..

Plus it eliminates questions that need not be asked.

I love working on my site, updating my pics and making sure everything is perfect with it. Being your own web designer can be tedious but I love that feeling of satisfaction when I see the finished product.

I wouldn't recommend Wix either, but I've seen some nice ones. Skylar's is brilliant. Then there are some that are just ridiculous. But I say if you're going to do Flash, have an alternative view. When you pull my site up on your mobile phone, my simple alternative XTML website pulls up instead. And Skylar has a REALLY cool mobile design, which I'm contemplating. And I'm not going to argue with you about web designers being worth their salt, because I'm not A web designer, I'm MY web designer. I like the creative process, and I'm proud of my work.
I do believe a website says a lot about the companion, especially for those of us that work on our own websites. Some of these ladies' websites have multiple personalities. Some are so "elegant", I would hate to see how they decorate their homes. But it may just be me. I never really take anything at face value.
I'm sure Bella could shed a lot of insight for us. She would be a great help for Ms. Ava. She's a beautiful lady, and her visage would be wonderful inspiration for a custom website.

Well all I can say is that goodgirlmedia.com is doing an excellent job of my site so far from the sample pages she has sent me, and she created my avatar as well . I cannot wait to have the website in its entirety very soon

You right, it don't make a difference because we are going to look at the pictures and not read anything.

I have NO skills with a computer let alone enough to build a website and for me, it's worth paying for one as an investment, especially one that's done beautifully. I see no issue either with an escort who wants to pay top dollar for a site to be done right. I really lucked out with goodgirlmedia.com because they were also offering a special this month and what they have shown me so far ( the designer, Holly, is an absolute doll to work with) was excellent. I see no point either in having a crappy website...better no website at all than a poorly done one or one that is hard to navigate.
We hear a lot about 'high end girls' having 'high end websites' which means nothing. The true high end girls do not need websites, they would be word of mouth ( think, Heidi Fleiss's girls, and she had no website, or other word of mouth high end escorts that travel only in the highest echelons of this profession) . So to say that a girl who has a 4000 dollar website makes her 'high end' is crap.
