This thread gave me plenty of laughs, great one...
Got to say I have never recieved slack for not having an envelope, but I always get a question when I do use one. Never equated the envelope as some sort of way to slip out of trouble, I dont think that was ever its original intention. I can only see it as a way to keep it all nice and neat and less chance of it getting lost.
I never however give it directly to a provider, this is only in a small way due to the connection it could mean to LE. and more so as a jesture of respect to the provider. The gift is secondary to the reason I am there, the main reason is the quality of the time we spend together, in whatever two adults decide they wish to do with each other is no one elses business but their own. If I place a gift on the night stand on my own in her view, thats one action, if she wishes to go and look at the gift, that is her right and an action she takes on her own, all secondary to main event and having nothing to do with it.
So its not just about legalaties, its about respect and to me a class act.
Any provider I have been with for a long time that asked me, Why dont you just hand it to me now? gets the same answer and they all seem to like it.
