Just found this splendid research and wanted to put it up for discussion:
"When it comes to aggressive courtship strategies, sexist men and women seem to be perfect for each other, new research suggests - Women who adopt sexist attitudes are more likely to prefer men who adopt similar attitudes. Not only do sexist men and women prefer partners who are like them, they prefer courtship strategies where men are the aggressors and women are the gatekeepers", the authors concluded:

I sometimes just wonder how statistical researches ever can come to such "meaningful" conclusions. I assume the interpretations as usual, at least the ones portrayed in the article, are reaching "too far".It would be interesting to get hands on the original research documentation. Because, a courtship strategy where the man is the aggressor and the woman is the gatekeeper does not necessarily conclude sexist behaviour as a common denominator, IMHO.
And the fact that two (or more) people that have "something" in common find each other, well - hip hip hurray! Who would have guessed? Go figure....As usual i am inclined to think that qualitative research would be deeper and more meaningful in the outcome presented in a research than the usual statistics. It seems a bit blunt IMHO.
