I understand your point about the education but if you read the link I posted, you'll see that we already spend more per student than most nations do yet the quality of our education continues to plummet. So that's why Wyldeman, myself and some others don't feel that it's simply a money issue. If you get a chance, there's an awesome documentary about our education system called "Waiting on Superman". If you get a chance to watch it let me know what you think of it. The documentary makes it pretty clear that it's not the lack of money that's currently plaguing or education system.
I've spent a considerable number of years being educated in the German school system, I've traveled extensively around the world and observed how other countries are addressing their education needs and in my opinion, money is not the issue at this point.

I hosted a viewing party at my home for this documentary and continue to support the message it brings as I can. Geof*ry Canad*, just recently came to be "famous". I knew about the Harlem Success Academy when it opened several years ago in just one block. Start a thread about education and not abortion and I will be more than happy to contribute. Some gentleman like their ladies cute and quiet. No one wants to *uck Hillary or Condi, lol.

I'm not sure ANY of us men want any part of being pregnant. It's something I definitely don't envy the ladies on.

My sister had to have an abortion because having the baby would have killed her and the baby would have died anyway. My sister was very very upset and was a very emotional tragedy for our family. My sister is not for abortions either. There are lots of people out there that want kids that are not able to have them. Adoption is a much more civil thing to do instead of using abortion as a form of birth control that baby has done nothing wrong. You need to think first before you speak on this topic.

I do agree that using it as a form of birth control is probably not the best option.
I would like to see more people go the adoption route vs aborting. I'd also like to see the father be given some rights as far as the decision making process. It took two to create the situation, it should probably take two to make a decision.

Just because I believe the cost of private education precludes it's mainstream use, doesn't mean I believe public education is better. My "uninformed 2 cents" happens to originate from putting two children through private school for much of their education.

No need to be "careful". His mother was worthless as a parent. Therefor after our divorce I was awarded primary custody. He was 5 when we got divorced, I didn't leave for Iraq until he was approximately 9. By then I had gotten re-married. I never missed a single parent/teacher conference and kept up on his homework daily. How? It's a wonderful thing called the internet. I talked to him on webcam nightly, checking to make sure his homework is done. During parent teacher conferences, his teachers would set up webcam and I would be an active participant. Also, those 9 months out of the year aren't consecutive. I would leave for 90 days, come home for 30. In this modern age, it's not hard at all to be an involved parent. His mother by contrast lived less than 2 hours away while I was overseas yet never made a single parent/teacher conference in the last 8+ years. Not by phone, not by webcam not in person.
Not to toot my own horn, but his teachers have consistently told me that as a father I've been more involved with my son's education than many men who work right here in the city. So yeah, helping him with homework at night through webcam, staying in constant touch with his teachers, sometimes daily if he was having problems or issues, and staying involved whether I was home or abroad, I'd say that qualifies me as having been an "involved" parent.
How much vacation time do you get per year? 3 months where you get to be home full time, day and night with your kid? I doubt it. Between our time together on webcam, on the phone, etc and the 3 months I get to spend with him where I don't have to work, I'd put my time spent with my kid and my involvement in his education up to any father's.
