Welcome. I am not sure it qualifies as "authentic Mexican food" but Maudies on No. Lamar has some great Mexican food, and their tortilla soup is the best, IMO.

If you can't get into Franklins ... and who can ... there are LOTS of BBQ options. I'd suggest a 40 min ride to Lockhart for ANYTHING THERE ... or to New Braunfels for Cooper's. You'll get seated faster and eat quicker than you would if you go to Franklins.

Brisket doesn't compare, though!
