Question for mods

I can't help but notice over the years that when a member post something in the wrong forum some members are very quick to say this thread needs to be moved. Is this necessary? Do the moderators need and want this help?

In my experience most people on this site are trying to be helpful to the OP, as we all were new to this community or new to posting at one time or another. I do not think they are alerting us, the mods, I could be wrong. Posts get reported and it is helpful, I for one prefer a post being rported rather than a posting, easier for me. BUt I do appreciate the help, while CC and I try to catch everything we are only human and we miss things at times.

There scoring points? and some say in the alerts section (2 eccie members tried to solicit to me) should be closed.

Nobody is scoring points by reporting posts or by stating a thread is in the wrong place. I saw thread in Alert section you are mentioning, I am not prepared to close that thread at this time, we will see, thx.
