Hi
I hope you all the best with your roomie. The drugs can alter moods for both but underlying intelligence still is there. If she your friend tell her what she needs to know to stay comfortable, more may trigger a negative reaction. Best of luck!

I wouldn't tell. But that's just my opinion. In my past experience ppl don't take what I do very well. When you let ppl know your personal business depending on who it is may start to judge you. The less they know the better off they are. Id say anyway. Hope this helps . Good luck hun

Wow, reading this reminds me of a situation I just got out of. I lived with a very good friend off & on since I was in my teens. My job was to be her caregiver. We were close friends long before she became very sick. She knew what I did (we didn't keep many secrets from each other). She said she accepted & loved me regardless but, things began to change.
No matter how long you've been friends or how close you are eventually caring for another person takes it's toll in you. We very VERY seldom disagreed or argued but there at the end I realized I made a mistake by telling her what I do when in a heated argument my friend made a side handed dig about it!!
It began happening more & more. Then she seemed to think I was always loaded with $ and began wanting to borrow. I eventually chose to move out before I said something I'd regret. Moving out saved our 15+ yr friendship. I believe if I had never opened up to her about that part of my life we still might be living togather, then again maybe not? My advice would be to keep it in. Find a friend who does it too if you need someone to relate to.

Wise words, Ali! The need to tell is partly for you to feel like you are cleansing yourself. A person should not make the mistake of thinking that his confession will be received in the spirit it was offered. Someone else's promise to understand and not become judgmental is often impossible due to the far different ways travel to arrive at that knowledge.
Remember, it took you and all of us many weeks, months or years to rationalize our participation in "the hobby".
See? We still like to refer to it as a "hobby".
My advice to providers is to always stay "private" enough to be able to be able to keep both lives separate and to stay vigilant in protecting that line in between them. I think you should strive to NEVER let down your guard any more than you would with LE.
Take my advice with a grain of salt because I would still entertain becoming a Mormon and trying to marry Ali*Cat if she came to Texas tomorrow! I wouldn't want her to have a chance to change her mind while I was waiting on a quickie divorce. LOL
