Agreed. Those poor people and their loved ones are going through so much pain right now. It really makes you wonder what is wrong with the world that people are capable of doing thing like this.

Unfortunately its going to get worse before it gets better, especially here in the US. When people struggle they can project their struggle onto other targets, it could be race, sex, religion, they blame their target for the cause of their misery. I am afraid that this problem is building up here in the US and will explode one day soon.

I pray for our friends in Norway and hope God affords them the strength to forge through their losses and the power to forgive that young man for such a wanton act of hatred and violence. I also pray that God gives the young man so intent on causing so much pain and spreading so much violence the ability to exorcise the demons that drive him so. Norway is one of the most peaceful nations in the world. Too bad evil can erupt anywhere anytime any place. Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our deaths.... Shantih Shantih Shantih

Just goes to show there are nutjobs everywhere. He reportedly wrote a 1500 page manifesto. The Unabomber wrote a long manifesto. Where do the insane find the time?

I lived in Norway. Truthfully I find it appalling but not shocking. The most shocking part to me was How he came by his weapons and police uniform. Norway has strict anti gun laws. But they also struggle with racism. They have many of the same feelings about Pakistanis that many here feel about immigrant Mexicans. Add to that a few terrorists have hidden outta in Norway and it creates strong feelings. Especially in an otherwise homogenous society.
Still very tragic.

And not one of you mentions that he was a RIGHT WING NUTJOB. Nice.
Norway has Teabaggers now. The disease is spreading.
Don't think it was political? Look at his victims. Do a quick search right now and see who the kids were at camp. What kind of camp was it?
It was a RIGHT WING NUTJOB that did the Oklahoma City bombing.
It was a RIGHT WING NUTJOB that shot Gabrielle Giffords in the head.

Timothy McVeigh spent time in the City Elohim in Oklahoma. This racist, white supremist, national SOCIALIST leadership probably had some affect on McVeigh who was crazy. What do you call someone who thinks he has a chip in his ass?
I say McVeigh was more crazy than anything else or does LM want to condemn all ex-military people since McVeigh was one of those as well.
A quick aside, LM was the first to introduce politics into this thread.
The man who shot Gabrielle Giffords was crazy and I don't know if he was a liberal but he spent his time watching and reading liberalism. I guess you missed the news reports about that.
As for the guy in Norway, his lawyer and the governments lawyer both think he is crazy.
So this is kind of poor. Most of the people that you can claim are right wingers are first and foremost crazy. I'll let you have a second chance, name a conservative who has committed mass murder AND (this is very important) is not certifiably insane.

I think you just said.......................
Galt and you are the cheapskate Galt, the victimizer or ancient asians;
Mass murderers are right wing and are insane? We agree with you but I doubt that is what you meant.
I don't recall many Liberal, open thinking, accepting, progressives that have done the deeds?
Now what bothers me is that you are an obvious right wing nut job and who knows what you might do?
Liberals own super soakers, and nut jobs have automatic weapons with large clips just hoping someone will go ahead and make their day.
He Galt do you agree with Glen Beck that the summer camp reminded him of the Hitler Youth Camps? OMG!

I don't think this is the proper thread for this discussion. It's a tragedy regardless of the ideology of the perpetrator. No proper thinking person of any persuasion believes this is the best way to get an idea across. Let's mourn the victims, and wait for more information before we condemn a movement for the acts of an idiot.

Yes, it was a mistake responding to the outrageous rant by LM. So I apologize for using a stick to stir the shit.

Judge Kim Heger read a statement to reporters where he summarised Breivik's claims. He said: "The object of the attacks was to give a sharp signal to people. The accused acted to induce the greatest possible loss to the Labour Party so that for the future it will limit new recruitment.
"The Labour Party has failed the country and the people and price of their treason is what they had to pay yesterday.
"The operation was not to kill as many innocent people as but to give a signal that could not be misunderstood. As long as the Labour party keeps driving its ideological line and mass importing of Muslims then it must assume responsibility for this treason."
"Any person with a conscience can't allow their country to be colonised by Muslims," he added.
I didn't inject politics into the discussion about this tragedy. Politics were already part of the discussion because they were the CAUSE of this tragedy. Dismiss it as "just a crazy man" if you like. That'll guarantee it'll happen again.

In 1993, he drove to Waco, Texas during the Waco Siege to show his support. At the scene, he distributed pro-gun rights literature and bumper stickers, such as "When guns are outlawed, I will become an outlaw." He told a student reporter:
"The government is afraid of the guns people have because they have to have control of the people at all times. Once you take away the guns, you can do anything to the people. You give them an inch and they take a mile. I believe we are slowly turning into a socialist government. The government is continually growing bigger and more powerful and the people need to prepare to defend themselves against government control."
I bet you agree with every word of his quote. Timothy McVeigh was a registered Republican. Nice try to re-write history.
A quick aside, LM was the first to introduce politics into this thread.

He claimed to be an Independent, just like most Teabaggers. Sure, he had mental health problems beyond his mental health problem of conservatism, but he purposefully targetted a Democrat. It's pretty clear where he stood.
As for the guy in Norway, his lawyer and the governments lawyer both think he is crazy.
