However, you don't negotiate on the price after the appointment has been set. You especially don't negotiate at the start of the meeting. This applies for the seller just as much as for the buyer. I won't even touch the issue of negotiating at the end of the appointment.

It's also rude to be persistent once the lady has said "no haggling."

Me, I don't haggle, I just move on to another lady. If a lady is out of my desire/price ratio and offers a special, she may get business from me that she wouldn't normally get. Or if her regular rate is OK, she may get extra business if she has a special.

The only time I would think about haggling with a provider over rates would be an over-nighter, and then it would be a simple question, something like "Are your over-night rates firm." The only reason I would even think of this -- in an hour or two date, probably 75% or so is pure sex. In an 8 hour over-night date, maybe 40% would be for pure sex. I, personally, would not pay the same rate for an hour that I would for 8 hours.

But I wouldn't really call it haggling. It would be in simple question with one simple answer.

Anyone thinking about "haggling" needs to read this like it's the bible.

Rate paid must be established at the time of booking.... if there is no discussion, then the rate is THE RATE QUOTED on the site provider was contacted through.

Any idiot who tries to haggle upon arrival needs to be tarred and feathered, and I'll heat up the oil and hold the brush.

Always,
Gina

I suppose it comes down to the client's intent. A client calls knowing the advertised rate is $$ for service (A) but calls offering only $ while expecting the exact same service then I see the provider's point. Block his number. Complaining won't stop these guys from calling.

If the client calls and says "I only have $ to spend. Are you interested?" It provides the lady the opportunity to offer Service A at 1/2 the clock time or services B, C or D instead. Win/win situation. She still has someone wanting to give her his $. She can always simply say no thanks.

If a client shows up to a booked appt and haggles well that is simply a dishonorable man, scammer and borderline thief no different than the provider who upsells after advertising a set rate for set service.

Yea Jules your insistence that something which is hardwired into the brains of our species --literally-- is insulting when it's directed at you does come off as at least a little myopic. I would interject that economics isn't just about buisness it really is about the dynamic forces underlying any social exchange and so consequently does informs this issue nicely. Be that as it may you don't need to formally study economics to understand that you're over-privileging your personal feelings. You showed you intuitively understood this when you conceded that the social consensus would likely go against you.... The really interesting thing about any marketplace is the diversity of competing perspectives. In this particular marketplace some participants will over value what their junk and skills are worth to others, while other participants will choose to be insulting if it means that sometimes they will get a better price. So insulting it might be, but honey the world doesn't revolve around you and your snatch. In a perfect world lots of things might happen, but the world isn't perfect and we consequently have markets. If you don't like the rules they operate by then tough, because they are just another part of nature like getting old and dying.

There is always going to be hagglers out there. When a dude starts haggle, I just move on. Just like there is a lot of providers out there, there is EVEN more hobbyist. Goody for us both huh?

To take the time to be insulted by any hagglers is a waste of time.....

I don't haggle with providers who have published rates.

That said, I do haggle on consultant fees, project fees that may swing a couple of hundred thousand one way or the other. It's negotiation when it's not insulting, haggling when it is insulting. If you don't understand the business you're in and don't negotiate when you can, then you will lose out to your competition.

If I show up to my job, and my boss wanted to haggle my rates, then I always have the choice to say yes or no. There's also a chance that I may walk out of that meeting making more than I did when I walked in. That said, it's not something I expect everyday, since we haggled my price when I got my offer, then each year we haggle over my price when I have my performance eval. At any given point, I am free to say "no thank you" and walk out.

While I don't haggle with providers who have published rates, I do negotiate with "providers" who don't have set rates.

If you're insulted that your customers want to save their money, then you have to wonder why. Many providers tend to link some aspect of self-worth, class or quality with their rates. Maybe it's time to figure that out and detach your rate from those qualities.

WTF, off-topic and racist. I love how you just broadly lumped in 70% of the global population, spanning three different continents, and countless different cultures into your stupid "fact."

But if it is your first time visiting her and u are asking for a discount, thats not a good way to start things, in my opinion!

I think with you I did it the right way I made an offer from what I saw on past reviews in a PM. You made a counter offer and I accepted....

If you are a Newbie and have not been on the board much never ever try to low ball unless that is something on her menu....

If you did not see a special listed some wheres, then dont ask for a special. You will get kicked to the curb, unless your someone that I see on a regular. I personaly am not a car lot where price is negotiable. Think of me as Saturn where the price is as listed.

Kaiser: how am I a racist if its a fact?? I would be racist if I refused to do business with them due this 'rascist' comment as you acuse me of. riddle me that one, dick head.

and to your second dick head comment, until you have spent time as either a realtor or builder or any type of sales that deals with different cultures on a daily basis..
your opinion may or may not be valid..

and since you cannot read an entire post you missed the part where I stated ALL RACES haggle, some more than others?? learn to read an entire post before making a silly selective rebuttal

and since you are the only one who has issues with my post, I guess you are the one that has the problem..
