Hmmmmm
That sounds like you might have a virus or malware on your computer.

That's doing it on my home computer and my laptop. Both computers are new. Perhaps it IS an official notice. It's just weird (or odd) that both computers would say the same thing. Seems to be something with either the latest Opera and it's a BUG of theirs to have it continue to nag you to update or it really does need an update and the BUG is the other part of Opera which is telling me I'm already up to date when I do a check on that.

That update nag box though, is something I don't think is affecting the printing problem though. I appreciate the insight/thought farmstud60.

Actually, a virus on both computers that gives the same message is quite possible.

I had a Malware virus that I got on my laptop that I use most of the time that looked like an official Windows notification.

Hi again, Looked at your showcase, am smiling and now have a little more to add:
I did some reading on this problem and wanted to pass some ideas along.
- HP says when re-installing drivers to completely remove the old drivers first then down load fresh drivers. the exact drivers for your printer are located on their download site. go directly there and follow the instructions.;
- is the Java script driver up to date?
- Here is a link to previous versions of Opera. There are reports of printing problems with Version 11.11 and several reports that going back to previous versions fixes the printing problem. Link is http://www.opera.com/browser/downloa...ndows&list=all
- do you have the same problem using other browsers? If not, then the problem is most likely in Opera?
- and sadly we come to the fact that the coincidence of the printing starting to fail all of a sudden leads to a conclusion that you have a virus.
- Can you Copy the error message and any other pops you are getting related to this and post them or send them to me by PM?
- sadly I found no discussion of the problem as you outlined it;

Moving into the area of how to fix it-
- quickest and with an almost certainty of success, but possibly most painful, is to wipe the hard-drive and do a full re-install of all programs.
- run all the virus protection programs you can find; some free ones that I like are- Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG Anti-Virus, AVIRA.

OK... good luck again!!

Tia, I'm sorry i just saw this post. I think i may be able to help you. When setting up your printer using USB and windows 7, DO NOT install the print driver, windows 7 does that automatically for you if you just give it a few minutes. I believe you have a conflict of 2 print drivers, the one that windows 7 loaded auto, and the one that you installed.

To fix this problem, un-plug the USB cable and turn off your printer or unplug, then go to start, printers & faxes and remove both print drivers (remove device) then re-boot computer. after computer comes back up, turn on printer and plug-in USB cable. (DO NOT INSTALL ANY PRINT DRIVERS) give it a few minutes and you will notice that windows 7 found the printer and auto-installed the driver for you.

(Windows 7 has pre-loaded older drivers and only does auto-install when using USB)

Hope this helps you,
CG
