Um, the Federal Government levies exactly zero taxes on real estate. Lay that at the feet of your local municipalities. At the end of the 20th century we had it made, with a booming economy and enough revenue to cover government expenses.

Then some yahoos figured it would be a good idea to stop paying the bills, sort of a supply-side experiment to refudiate arithmetic and "starve the beast." Ten years later, here we are. At least we know never to try THAT again, right? Right??? Wait, let me check the papers ... nooo! They never learn!

Think of a stimulus as like bailing water: it can keep your boat from sinking for awhile. It doesn't fix the holes; but if you still have a boat, it's working as well as you can hope. (Fixing the holes would involve spending even MORE money, so of course we can't have infrastructure, education, or economic development that would actually pull us out of this.)

Meanwhile if it DOESN'T seem to be working, BAIL FASTER!

If we have to roll with how things are or may end up the only thing I see from this is that you gentleman should bring some extra money for tips and the hopes that the deficit in funds may make a lady ponder about giving extras or becoming take-out!! I'm just saying non-taxable funding making up for the personal deficit. . .

Chloe,

Would you accept an exempt transaction certificate from me? I can have it notarized before we meet.

If not, how about a resale certificate?

NYS is very strict on sales tax enforcement. It has to be filied and paid quarterly and they audit often and regulary.A friend of mine was awsome at autobody, loved the art and didnt watch the accounting. He now owes $130,000.oo that accrues intrest. His original obligations are about 33% of that , but the government will assess intrest, penalties and fees from the date of the original violation. So much for giving the little guy a break. He has never made an income anywhere near being able to pay that off.I said, fuck it, go to jail and do your time...not sure how this is gonna end up. I do know this person is not inherintly greedy or was trying to dodge anything...my be ignorant and nieve enough to be dangerous to his own way of life.
