Default Snow? In South Austin?!?

I remember what snowfall looks like from when I was stationed in Germany years ago, so I'm pretty darned sure that that is what's falling outside my window!

Its a ' wintry mix'; part (rain)ice/snow...not 100% snow, which is why the ' snowballs' form so easy today, it's a mixture of ice/rain and snow..

but still enjoyable, reminds me of Chicago...

Today: Cloudy with rain and snow this morning, becoming all snow by the evening. Cold. Temps nearly steady in the mid 30s. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Tonight: Snow showers this evening. Becoming clear later. Low 32F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%.

Tomorrow's rush hour will be interesting, Mopac will be full of drivers too scared to go over 5 mph
100% snow is much ' dustier' , not as heavy

Rain / Snow High
36°F

Precip
100%
Wind: From N at 15 mph Max. Humidity: 80% UV Index: 3 Moderate
Sunrise: 7:03 AM CT Avg. High: 67°F Record High: 95°F (1996)

just got back from running in it with a friend (oddly enough, we almost had all of the town lake trail to ourselves). at once it was so cool with the big, fluffy flakes while at the same time getting stung with the freezing rain. she and i loved it!

I have been watching the snow's beauty out my window while wrapped up in warm blankets all day today. I want to go take some pictures, but it's too damn cold!

There's nothing like curling up in the arms of a lover and watching the snow fall.
So very awesome!

It snowed in San Marcos today for God's sake!

I also used to live in the frozen urban jungle known as Chicago. It ain't snow until there is at least a foot of it on the ground. What sucks about snow in large cities is the grime on the streets mixes into the snow, and eventually it turns very dark gray and even black. That snow is gross.

I thought it would be a mad house with all the wintery stuff, but I didn't hear about too much craziness.

Ok if you went out and stocked up on canned goods and peanut butter/bought a generater, admit it now and your punishment will be less severe....

I tell Austinites Chicago winter anecdotes and occasionally get called a liar to my face; one pretty girl refused to believe frostbite happened in human-populated lands; Antarctica, maybe, but surely not the Midwest....

It can be a beautiful city. Here is a picture I took in February '07.

It sucks that the limit is 234KB because I take pictures in full resolution on a 7.2 megapixel cam. If I could have posted it a little closer to the actual size you would see how awesom those birds look. The look like they were painted onto the picture.
