Pictures
Can anyone clear up the use of pictures of providers? I have pictures I have taken of several providers and wonder what I can and can't do with them. Can I post them on photo sites? Do I need a signed release from the model? If there is no money involved do I need a release? I gave several photos to a provider and she is using them on her web site. Should she be required to obtain my permission?

You gave her several photos for what? If you gave them to her then she had your permission. Why did you give it to her? Who owns the rights to the images? If she signed a release then you own the rights. If she did NOT sign a model release then you cannot do anything with the pictures.

Hey I have no bitch with her posting the pictures. In fact I told her she could post them. Just wondering if I can send some to a picture site. I guess I will send them and put a different name with them.

That is against the law. I don't know what provider this is but IF I knew her I would warn her. What you are trying to do IS wrong. As providers we already don't want our pictures falling into the wrong hands. You are putting her in danger and giving her bad publicity if you post her pics WITH a DIFFERENT NAME. The best way to go about it is to ASK HER FIRST and see what she says. What you are doing is bad business then again it really is HER fault for not doing her research and looking into a reputable photographer that will protect her.

The copyright of the photos belong to the photographer. But, you need to get her permission to post the photos here or anywhere else, a signed modeling release isn't a bad idea, even if it is not a professional (paid) shoot.
I know it can be frustrating. I'm very proud of some of the photos I've taken of ladies here, but this is the only place I can show them, and do so then only when given permission.

If it were so against the law why does it happen so frequently? Any provider who has posted photos on the web has had them hijacked. Just google any handle you have used. You should not be surprised at all the sites where your photos and bio appear. You need to reread you law books.

If you took the photos and the girl knowingly allowed the photos to be taken, they are yours to use as you please. Now if you secretly took the photos without her knowledge, then she may have a civil and possible criminal case against you. The bottom line is a reasonable expectation of privacy. If she allowed the photos to be taken, then she has no expectation of privacy. If you took the pics in secret without her knowledge, then she would have an expectation of privacy. From what you are saying, she went along with the photos, so she has no expectation of privacy.

Just because something happens often doesn't mean it's not against the law. Rape and Child molestation happens all the time. It doesn't make it right does it? Sounds like a case of "MrIthinkIknowitall". YOU need to read up on YOUR law books. See the thing is if I own the rights to my photos and someone STEALS them from my website, that is against the law. That is called Copyright infringement. In such case I would send them a DMCA asking them to take my pictures down. If they do not remove it, I could sue.

Now you start reading and stop worrying about the validity of my posts so much you just MIGHT learn something.
Just because one is a hooker/ escort doesn't mean that she does not have any rights. When photos are stolen it is a big offense and shouldn't be taken lightly.
The OP did not go into detail. If he gave the girl full rights, he cannot do anything with her pictures. If the girl LET him take her pictures and there was no agreement signed giving her rights (full or shared), there is nothing she can do. It is a matter of consent.
On your other comment "Google any handle you've had" whatever that meant: When an escort advertises it is wise for her to read the fine print on the advertiser's website. Some sites like backpage can do whatever they want with your pictures. This is not secret. This is a known fact. Not all escort advertising venues are like that but most are. No surprise there. This is also one of the reasons it is wise not to show face in escort advertisements.

A photographer has full rights to pictures as long as he obtains a signed release from the model, hence the term 'release'. She's giving up her rights and giving him permission to use them as he wants. If she does NOT (or has not) signed a release, he does not have legal permission to publicly post them. I'd get it in writing before putting them up elsewhere, even under a different name.

The photographer owns the copyright and you do not need a release to post your pictures on your website, use in your portfolio. You as the owner can do as you choose. Doesn't matter if its trade or cash exchanged.
You need a release to sell-make money off the image. And yes they need permission to use the images for promotion. print, or even facebook. Even if you give them permission to use you still own the images. You gave them usage rights.
It is common for releases to be signed for most photography, just saves headaches later. And of course dont post private images people did not want posted.. I have many fab pictures I cant post..
Copyright laws are strict and you can get in trouble for using images you dont have permission for..

You know I would really like to say exactly what I am thinking right now. Only you can equate hijacked photos to rape and child abuse. I have gone on record my views of each. Alas, my simple formula for dealing with those cases would not get by our judiciary.
Now if you have in fact gotten the copy right of your photos they are yours. If you have not, then they probably can be used in a public domain. Even if the photos cannot be used you will have to track down every website that has your photos and ask them to pull them as you never posted them there.
Several providers I know looked into this a couple of years ago. One posted on eight escort sites. Upon a little research, her photos and bios appeared on better than two dozen escort sites. She spent a couple of days trying to contact the sites, webmasters, etc. Some quickly removed her photos and info, some did not . . . At that point, she had to see if its worth going after the sites.
If one has the time, and resources, one can probably force the removal of photos and contact info. Is it really worth the effort? That is the question every provider will have to ask herself.
Now I was not attacking you. But your pissy attitude is wearing thin. I suppose you never heard the old saying, "You can attract more bees with honey than vinegar."

Edit:
So you're pretty much saying the same thing I did earlier. Ok
On the rape/moles. comment, I was trying to make a point and I did.
Photographer owns rights to images. If a photographer allows the model to buy the rights of the images/sign agreement giving the model rights, he cannot go post the pictures online and name it whatever he wants (which is what the OP wants to do). Once you give up your rights, there is not much you can do. Sounds like the OP gave up his rights. Sites like backpage.com own whatever you post on their site (Your text and Your pictures). They can and will post them on affiliate sites like cheatingboards.com and sexyescortsads.com. Yes I have experience with this so I know.

Ditto.
See here.. I would like for you to take your own advice. I notice the little nasty comments/attacks you make every time I post. That is why I responded the way I did. It is ok though. You know to get respect, you have to give it.
So Pyramider, Now I was not attacking you. But your pissy attitude is wearing thin. I suppose you never heard the old saying, "You can attract more bees with honey than vinegar. See how it goes both ways? Enjoy your night.

Like you stalk me, You should stalk my reviewers as well and google their handles
http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&h...16b5cdb3fe9040
You will see that they have been in this hobby a long time.
Eccie is not a carolinas board. my reviews are on carolinas boards/sites.
As you can see *gasps* I once had a profile on TER before I delisted myself.
http://www.theeroticreview.com/discu...rdID=29&page=1
Here's another one by a guy from *gasp* Houston! http://www.eraps.net/showthread.php/...ighlight=Naomi
Ya can't say that one is suspect can you? He also reviewed a very well known houston provider.
If you do a google search, You will see that I had one heck of a rep for being a sexy, no BS provider :-)
I hope that today you can put your rumors, lies and bullshit speculation about me to rest.
Oh and here on eccie, There are also other retired/semi-retired ladies that still post.
There is no rule against it so please for the last time, Please stop insulting me.
Back on topic: OP, You can use the pictures if there was no agreement signed. You took them, you own the rights.
If its someone you know personally and you want to maintain some kind of relationship with her I say you should tell her before you use the pictures. Just let her know before you sell them/attempt to make money off of them.
:::::::exits the thread.
