Default Hah took the birther 'queen' less than a day!

I had no doubt that the lunatic birthers would find something to hang their hat on to perpetuate the conspiracy theories. But even I didn't think they would come up with their response so quickly. Almost impressive really. Almost.

Well, here it is. On the long form, Obama's father's race is listed as "African". Orly Taitz, a woman who ironically is not a natural born citizen herself, but who is dubbed the "birther queen" because she has been one of the most vocal and litigious birther whackos, says she has her doubts about the birth certificate, because in 'those' days, ie 1961, blacks would have been referred to as Negro, not African.

So, it took only a few hours for them to find the detail they are going to focus on to continue perpetuating the conspiracy. Good grief.

I thought you were talking about the person who originated the whole "birther" stuff:

Hillary Clinton.

I believe it's true that Hillary or a Democrat originally brought up the birth certificate issue. Similar to Al Gore being the first person to bring Willie Horton into the political discussion, it's interesting how these types of issues originate and take on a life of their own.

I was always skeptical about the birth issues because there's no way Hillary would not have used it to take out Obama if there was something there. That's one ruthless woman who doesn't let anything stand in her way to get what she wants. If things don't get better for Obama, I won't be surprised if she doesn't challenge him in 2012 and win, but that's a different thread.

Seems that Ms Taitz was registered as a DEMOCRAT before she was a republican. I guess she is a democrat at heart. She is Jewish (almost 80% voted for Obama), she was raised in the Soviet Union, and when she loses elections she demands recounts and contests the outcome. Yep, sounds more like a democrat to me. Kind of like Bloomberg of New York City.
By the way, Trump is running as a Republican, not as a conservative.

I find it interesting that a bill was rushed through the Senate ensuring that John McCain could run for president when we know for a fact he wasn't born in the United States. I'm not saying he shouldn't have been allowed since he was born at a US military base to American parents, but he never had to face this kind of scrutiny.

I also wonder why Trump is now bringing up the issue of his college records. If you want to attack Obama he has plenty of weaknesses that are actually relevant. Why continue to bring up these half-baked conspiratorial issues when you could easily attack him on policy?

Because that's what Republicans want to hear. They love a conspiracy theory and love to be outraged. A Muslim from Kenya cheatng his way into the office of the President is a great story if you're looking to feel cheated and outraged.

It's working. Polls now suggest that Trump is the leading Republican candidate, sad as that is.

Man, if only McCain hadn't been allowed to run for President. Then somebody good might have run and not chosen Sarah Palin.

I just have to remind Starry69 that there are a group of people out there who think Bush blew up the World Trade Center and despite 50 recounts by news publications there millions who think Bush was not elected in 2000.

I don't know how many times this has to be said but the original birthers were democrats; look up Philip Berg.

Well Galt if Mr Berg originated the original rumor I wondered why he might have done it?

In the end 45% of Registered Republicans drank the Kool Aid and believed the President was born elsewhere.

I call that Rope a Dope, A Sucker Born Every Minute, You Can Fool 45% of Republicans All of The Time, and a very well done Sting.

Bush was annointed 5-4 and not elected in 2000.
