The only 2 in the Austin area I would consider are Players (North Austin) and Friends (Pflugerville). Friends has been around the longest and has a somewhat older crowd and what I consider to be a friendlier crowd, although both have their cliques. Haven't been to Friends in quite a while.
Players is a much larger club, dance floor and tables and bar downstairs, swing area upstairs. Younger crowd, very hip and classy. We have a group heading there on Saturday but I will be out of town.
Both are BYOB and the women dress very sexily at both clubs. I consider both of them to be off-premise clubs although there is the swing area at Players and there is a room at Friends for some activities.
I prefer the Lagniappe Chateau in Shreveport, La. to either of these clubs. The 5-hour drive from Austin is a bitch, however.
