A repeat of an old, old question : does the attractiveness of the hobbyist matter?

I find that the personality aspect kinda cuts both ways. I admit I am overweight and would probably not be the person women would flock to, but I can engage almost anyone in a good and detailed conversation and I can make them laugh. If I can't make a connection with a provider it's just not worth the money.

I have had encounters where I just didn't connect with my provider and really did not enjoy the session. I doubt that I am sweeping these girls off of their feet, but I feel that I can usually strike up friendly relationship in most of my encounters instead of it just being a business transaction. I admit I appreciate being with a woman that enjoys sex and doesn't see this lifestyle only as a means of compensation. If a woman can act well enough for me to believe her then props to her acting ability but I can usually detect actual enthusiasm. I also appreciate a women that can teach me something new. When I first started out I went down on women very aggressively. It was a provider who first told me she was more into women than men who helped me out in the area by instructing me to begin gently and build to a more aggressive finish. This advice has proved to be very useful.

To be realistic there are obligations on the providers in this lifestyle but no client needs to rub their provider's faces in these obligations. If you show up to a session dirty and smelly how would you think your provider would react? A client should at least take responsibility for their cleanliness. In addition, I don't think anyone gains anything by being a dick and acting like god's gift to women. If you were really god's gift to women, seriously, would you have to engage in a hobby like this?

I have often wondered this. There are several guys on this board that the women just rave about. Are they white-knighting each other? Is it a mutual admiration society? Personally, I think the escorts recognize that fat, ugly men come with the territory. If they didn't accept that, they'd get out of the business. They know they can just about require the guy be clean. If he's nice, it's a plus, if he's handsome, it's a plus.

For the guys it's kind of a "best bang for the buck" kind of situation. And there are lots of permutations about what the "best" means. Some guys like young hard bodies. Some like "experienced" good looking ladies.

But really...if the guy is tall, good looking and rich enough to be in the hobby, why in the hell would he be here? He wouldn't. He'd be out getting as much civvie strange as possible.

not saying i am any or all of these but I am in the hobby because I got tired of the bull crap that comes along with the "civvie strange".

Naomi certainly over-states things just a bit in my case (bless her for that!) so i'm not saying this does or doesn't apply to me. But being unappealing is hardly the only reason that guys might choose to partake in the hobby.

As a simplistic example, couldn't we all agree that Tiger Woods would very likely be better off today if he had been smart enough to use the hobby rather than go about things the way he did?

Perfect example! Tiger woods had a beautiful wife but he was still seeing escorts! I'm sure he figured an NSA relationship would work out for his situation .... but it didn't end well. I'm sure Tiger could have gotten it for free. Some guys want just that... an NSA relationship. The hobby is perfect for that. I'm sure Doove could get a hot chick to screw him on a regular basis...for free! He just doesn't want a girlfriend.
