Scarlett and I have worked together many times. She's so easy going, sincere and fun to be with. Her sexiness, wit and charm always come shining through her photos.

She's right on about diversifying her images. The 'forest scene' images from our last shoot turned out over-the-top sexy with beautiful lighting. We felt that shooting in such an environment would allow viewers to get a well-rounded feel for who she is.

We all have many sides to our personalities. It's important that a woman's photo gallery reflects all facets of her persona. I rarely see this.

Becky has a refreshingly unique style and her images reflect that. When you look at her images you can see that she asserts different sides of her persona. She, like Scarlett and many of my other clients know that viewers want to see images that are fresh and up-to-date.

I talk about this in my blog entry. It's a must-read: http://www.meesheephotography.com/blog/?p=83. A companion is not a model. Yet, she must model to produce images that represent herself.

For Carrie and all others, I feel that it is my job to make sure that you love your photos. In that regard, it really doesn't matter whether or not you feel comfortable in front of the camera. From the moment we meet, I will work with you and get you to a point where you feel incredibly sexy and comfortable. Throughout the shoot you get to see 'sneak previews' of the images in my camera as we're going along. When you see how beautiful you really are it's a major boost to your confidence in front of the camera and off you'll go.

From my perspective, I want the photo to trigger something in me that wants me to see the woman in person. The styles can vary. Here are two different types as an example.

I'm familiar with what you want an image to provoke. The 2nd image is, pardon me for saying this, but almost 'doggy style' which is super sexy and is featuring at least 2 of her best assets. The first one has great legs,smooth, tanned skin and very pretty hair color. That's clear. But other than that, I personally don't see anything special about the first image. As a photographer with a discerning eye, I would have paid more attention to her surroundings in an effort to really illuminate her beauty and sexuality. Please don't take offense to my comments. Maybe there's enough in the images to give a viewer what he/she is looking for.

As I stated in my previous post, it is my job as the photographer to direct the subject into poses that are sexy, provocative and erotic, if she likes. I'm aware that many of my clients seek the opinions of their male friends before they select their images. So I realize that my clients are not only the ladies but the men with whom they spend time. I feel that an alluring image should go beyond pretty and appeal to not only the libido but the intellect as well.

In this regard, I'm curious to know how you would critique my work on my website - what appeals and doesn't appeal...

Nice website, Meeshee!!! From a guy's standpoint (and I may be alone on this), I look for several things on a lady's website:

1. Her stats. Since I'm short, I want a lady who will physically "fit" my body. And since I'm not so well-endowed, I have some trouble with BBW. If you hide the fact that a lady is BBW, that may cause me a problem. I like small breasts (most guys don't), so I like to see breast size, too.
2. Nature of pics. Most ladies try to post sensual pictures. That's fine, but sometimes they can "hide" things a guy should know up front. Personally I like to see the sensual photos, but I also look for "porn" photos. I like to be able to see if a lady has a full bush or is bare. I want to see unadulterated breast photos.
3. Don't hide the details. Pics can hide a lot!! A lot of ladies who have ink or metal will hide those in the pics. They seem to think there is a bias against them. If there is a bias (and I'm not admitting there is), just hiding it will only turn off a guy who has that bias when he discovers it. For me, it is a definite turn-on, and might make me choose one lady over another, especially if I can see the art.
4. Cost of companionship time. It is a waste of my time to go to her website, only to be met with a statement that if I want to know the cost, call. I've now wasted time going through her site, and supposed to waste more time by trying to connect just to find out her rates? I never call. Rates should be clear and be posted where they can't be missed. (BTW, one of my pet peeves is that you can find different rates for the same lady all over the 'net. When I contact her, I always refer to the lowest rate [saw your ad on ECCIE, or whatever]; but am always afraid I'll be "blackballed" for shorting her.)
5. Outcalls/Incalls. Due to NCNS experiences, I now do only Outcalls. If a lady doesn't post her availability for Outcalls on her website, I pass.
6. Contact Preference. I wil call, email, text, PM. I will not IM. Please tell me your preference so we can speed up the process. (I prefer email, but I'm from an older generation.)
7. Availability. Let me know on the website the hours of the week you work. If I'm looking for a weekend day and you only work week days, then I'd like to know that up front. If you are touring, please post this on your site.
8. If you are a P411 member, please post a link on your site to your P411 Page.
9. Discounts. If you give discounts to P411 members (or other such site) please post it also.
10. Please post a FAQs page. This is where you list your unique preferences. We all have them. It is much better for me to meet yours when I can read them in advance.
11. Gifts Page. Go ahead and post this if you want. I generally don't even look at it. There has been some discussion about this on the Boards, with convergent views about this. Most "gift" suggestions I see cost almost as much as a session. Seems a little skewed to me, but that may be just me.

What I spend for a lady's time may not seem like a lot of money to her, but I assure you, it is a lot of money to me. And I think most hobbyists exercise their hobby as they are financially able to, which means it is a lot of money to them also. So, I want a lot of information--as much as possible--up front so I can make an informed decision about which lady I want for companionship.

Most of my clients don't want to show all private parts, save breasts. I think those details for them are reserved to the stats on their site. Most of my clients don't request porn type pix which is a category I'd like to expand upon. There are a few BBW's on my site. You can tell their BBW's but again, most ladies want to look at gorgeous as possible.

I do have a lot more variety that isn't posted on my site for confidentiality reasons.

I guess I didn't emphasize enough that this is from the GUY'S viewpoint. I understand what your clients want and don't want because it is on an enormous amount of websites, and I probably understand some of the reasons for it.

I try to guess from the photos how tall a lady is (I don't want to see anyone over 5/6, and prefer 5/4 and under). Oftentimes, I am wrong. The lady that seems to me to be a spinner turns out to be a thin lady nearly 6/0 tall.

Just as a note, the ECCIE showcase (I haven't looked at all of them) tend, I think, to have "sensual" and "porn" pics alike for most ladies. One way to survey this is to view the featured showcases on the homepage.

For me, I like poses that are sensual without looking like the woman is in pain.

I don't know how to give you decent pointers to your work to make the point more obvious. One difference to me is, "Would the woman ever be comfortable having sex in that position or not?" Alternatively, if it isn't meant to be a lingering sexual position kind of shot, would a woman naturally strike the pose in a real-world effort to send "the signal".

Graphic is usually not a good way to go. The hint or a partial reveal is sexier as a rule.

One other thing, am I being let in to see a secret? The shower and bath imagery is one of my favorite genres.

What do I know though? I've only been masturbating to photos for four decades and have never been a photographer.

No. I got the guy's standpoint loud and clear. lol. I was just trying to emphasize the difference between what the women want and what the men want. Oh well. I guess it's the whole Men are from Venus, Women are from Mars concept. lol.

I recently had a visit with a well-regarded touring provider. She just had a six hour photoshoot in NYC with a very well-known pro photog (who, BTW, is way, way cheaper than the photog of interest in those other threads) and she showed me her favorites shots (out of 300). She remarks that what attracts guys is different than what women look for in their photographs.

Since the meter was running I didn't ask for an explanation, but the question remains with me.

I am thinking that her remark was based on the stereotypical assumption that guys only want titillating shots of female body parts (so what's wrong with that?) but women view them as a higher, more ethereal form of expression.

She is a lovely woman who is a wonderful, expressive model and she reported that the session made her feel special. But I am puzzled by her comment and would like clarification. Will someone become her surrogate and explain what women desire from their photographs that men don't see?

Oh my. That's almost too much information...

But are far as what a man wants to see I like to think I'm pretty informed about that. I think the majority of men think that less is more: an implication of the fantasy without letting go of all her secrets. Kind of like sampling of what's to come. But there are the others who want to see all and that diversification is what I strive for with my work.

I'm not really looking for pointers although I really do appreciate all input here because knowledge is power. My objective was to explore insight pertaining to the title of this thread.

In the end, I think that women want to appear sexy and attractive so how do they go about doing it? That's where a good photographer comes in. And what better one than a female? lol

I guess I got confused by this question you asked, What makes a sensual photograph that jumps off the page into the laps of the viewers?

It's obvious you're a very good to great photographer.

If nothing else, you've gotten some good advertising out of this thread.
