Why do you assume that DOGE is the only way to cut waste? What's Musk doing this week? He seems to have disappeared . When's he going to take his chainsaw to the pentagon? 1 trillion dollar defense bill advanced last night, How can that happen without Musk looking at it? A reform of our socialistic Procurement system would go a long way to reducing costs but, AND I BLAME BOTH PARTIES FOR THIS, theses reforms would be job killers in too many places for congressmen to risk their re-election.
Waste is a tricky term, Easily the most wasteful government spending in the last 50 years was the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where are those WMD? As Bad as that was, the fat dumb and happy in America didn't realize they'd be paying for it FOREVER. The interest on that debt is now approaching the cost of the war and is infinite until someone decides to pay for it. Trump's communistic pandemic bribes were the second, again what's the plan to repay it? The fat, dumb and happy were all to happy to take the money and often work on the side and now whine about the economy not taking into account their culpability in it. Russia just approved a 142 billion dollar defense bill, China 230 Billion, why are we spending so much more? If capitalist economic THEORY is correct, we should be spending less. What's the Budget for the Taliban? I tried to find out but I guess they aren't very transparent. If the fact the Taliban fought to a draw doesn't lead you the conclusion that the pentagon needs an overhaul,consider yourself one of the fat dumb and happy.
