Here's the thing---

If you're on one side of the political aisle-- you're going to rail against everything Trump is doing.

If you're on the other side of the political aisle-- you're going to insist he's playing economic chess and everything will "pay off".

The reality is somewhere in the middle. He's going to have to find the equilibrium and show the true benefits of these things rather quickly-- otherwise, the midterms are going to be a bad time. When you give a President a mandate-- the expectations are higher.

You are not wrong about how politics affects people’s perceptions.

One thing I can say for certain is that people and businesses respond poorly to chaos and uncertainty. I don’t expect the Trump administration to come into equilibrium anytime soon. Maybe I’ll be surprised.

Until then everyone should expect consumers to pull back on their purchases and correspondingly businesses to hold onto their money longer. It also doesn’t help that the government is holding mass layoffs and spending cuts while they are roiling the global economy with tariffs.

Things are going to get worse before they get better.

I think that is an understatement. The stock market today is just a start. Something needs to be done before that idiot drives us into a recession with his tariff bullshit. Yeah, Trump can bully some countries, but best of luck to us the consumers with many others like China that will tell Trump to kiss their asses with his bullying tactics.

I think it's a given he's going to drive us into a recession, the question is if it can be stopped short of a depression.

And in 4 years we won't have one ally that we can truly trust and we'll be as isolated as North Korea in global importance. Russia already exists without our money, China will do exactly as you say and not even notice the impact. The EU (and other nations) will form stronger ties that exclude the US, and while they may feel some impact it will be immaterial compared to what we get.

Get back to me in a year. Trump is trying to correct what should never been allowed to happen. The smart money says they we will rebound as other countries invest to escape the tariffs and our own production returns. It won't happen over night but has to have time to work before the mid term and we'll never have a better time. Time is not on our side for the planets largest consumer.

Then no reason to keep posting here.

Come back before the mid terms and we will see how things turned out.

What our liberal Trump Deranged Posters are saying is…….”Americans are lazy and stupid. They would rather lay around and buy foreign products made with cheap labor rather than have good jobs making American Made Goods”.

After all, the Government will take care of us.

Nobody is saying that. The assertion is juvenile.

Trump Deranged Posters? Are you suggesting that anybody who doesn’t support Trumpf is suffering from mental illness? Based on your daily rants, I’d say so.

You may want to read the guidelines.

Actually, those of us who are the most concerned are watching our IRAs and 401Ks lose value at a rapid clip.

Americans are, for the most part, lazy. And if you research global intelligence and education scores you might be in for a surprise on the stupid part. Let me say it again, manufacturing is NOT coming back to the US.

I think most of the vocal Trump supporters aka cult members have neither of those. And they will swear he'll never affect VA or SSI benefits they survive off of...until it happens.

And you just disqualified yourself for rational debate.

You've been following and defended a dead man for four years.

What's to debate? Who owns 4 out of 5 of the biggest market drop days of the past 50 years? That's not something to debate, it's a fact.

Here's a clue...not one Dem in that club.

I agree with you 80% of the time, but you're dead wrong on this. Unemployment is about 4%, and most of those 4% are either between jobs or they want to sit around on their asses. When you start moving all these low skilled jobs to the USA, working in garment factories and the like, who's going to do them? Well, it's sure not going to be immigrants or guest workers with Slimy Stephen Miller running the show. So maybe you take a software engineer or an electrician or a nurse and throw her on an assembly line. Bizarre.

Shouldn't Americans have the right to buy what they want? You certainly wouldn't put a gun to someone's head and say buy American or else. You wouldn't tax hard working people at 80%. Why would you run up prices on hard working Americans?

Can you furnish a link that backs up your comment the most vocal Trump supporters have neither a IRA or Roth? We will patiently await that link.
