And the bishop who criticized Trump during the inaugural received tens of millions from USAID.
Now we hear that someone spent $59 million on New York luxury hotels AFTER Trump shut it down. At best someone is getting publicly fired and may be indicted.

Who seems to be concerned about the fraud, waste, and abuse? The people who should be wringing their hands. That includes elected democrats and career bureaucrats.

Can you say that their is proper oversight in the way things are currently being handled? *I* see people having an issue with that.

if there had been proper oversight do you think billions would have been spent on this crap?

You have a link where she personally lined her nave with that? Otherwise, I can see the agency being aligned with Judeo-Christian values.

And in a perfect world.

...which we currently NOT in as observed by the current administration.

Just typing that, waste can't be dismissed when you make sure your buddies feed at the trough and you take offense at perceiving someone else doing so.

and then there is this ....

USAID Packages Found Among Hezbollah Weapons Cache

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattve...cache-n2652003

USAID is no more, but that doesn’t mean their years-long government waste and fraud campaign has vanished. The vestiges of this agency’s serial scamming will be evident for years. In Lebanon, Israeli forces recently raided a Hezbollah weapons cache that had some interesting items from America: USAID packages.

It’s not entirely shocking since it was explicitly clear that Hamas took over the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. What’s so surprising about another agency having its aid packages landing in the laps of terrorists? Our tax dollars went to these folks (via NY Post):
USAID humanitarian packages were found amidst a cache of weapons owned by terror group Hezbollah in Lebanon, an Israel Defense Forces soldier claimed to The Post.

“From the American taxpayer to Hezbollah, with love,” said Asher Fredman, a former IDF soldier and currently executive director of the Misgav Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy, a think tank, in Jerusalem.

Asher told The Post that he found sniper rifles, anti-tank missiles and explosives alongside the care packages marked “USAID” while on patrol in an undisclosed village in Lebanon where the Iran-backed Hezbollah had a stronghold.

With each day, new evidence shows that it was right to kill off USAID. It funded a quasi-state media apparatus, and now this little rendezvous with Hezbollah. But this is the tip of the iceberg. If this much waste and fraud was uncovered with this little agency, I can only imagine what we’ll find when the Pentagon and the Department of Education are audited.

ooopps!

told ya.!!!!

They have no interest in reducing the size of gumment because if they did they would be all for this...it is all because their TDS won't allow them to. Not a single one of them has said this is a terrible thing that needs to be investigated.

USAID spending? Or State Department spending?
Seems a couple of the 'outrageous' spends were not USAID.

Leavitt also mentioned $47,000 of USAID funding for a "transgender opera in Colombia," but she got several details wrong. The grant included $25,000 of federal spending, and it came from the State Department, not USAID.

The "$32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru" mentioned by Leavitt was also not a part of USAID funding. The money was awarded to the Fulbright Program in Peru. Fulbright is an international educational exchange program sponsored by the State Department "designed to increase mutual understanding" between the U.S. and other countries.

If it's state dept, run it through state dept budget, not us aid.
If it's ICE that needs beds, run it through Border Patrol budget, not Fema.

Get rid of all the smoke screen bs so a decent budget can be put together, oh wait, they can't even do that.

And, the stuff being mentioned reminds me of the Monty Python skits. Geeze, comic books? Spend that in the US. Opera? Spend that in the US. And on, and on, and on ...

You mean all those people that make billions from salaries from the government will be out of a job? That fixes a lot of things. Less tax revenue always helps our situation.

So let's pay everyone a billion dollars to increase the tax revenue. Then we'll have enough money to pay for everything.

Just don't think people are going to be very happy with a 10% unemployment rate again. Paying out unemployment bennies, people spending less lowers GDP. People spending less means local businesses go out of business. Housing foreclosure rates go up. Stock markets crash. All stuff that looks bad in a fast approaching midterm.

Musk has copped to being wrong about the condoms.

In other news the money he claimed went to Chelsea Clinton didn't

The comic book money wasn't USAID for a comic book. It was a Fulbright Program award from the State Dept.

The Politico money wasn't USAID. It was active subscriptions across multiple agencies for Politico Pro. USAID had 2 annual subscription for E&E, a Politico subsidiary in 2023 and 2024.

Doesn't seem like nitpicking. It seems like some folks are swallowing confirmation bias faster than Debbie swallowed Dallas.

This is the pretense for trying to eliminate USAID. And it's bullshit
