In December, 346 soldiers enlisted each day, the "most productive December in 15 years," U.S. Army Recruiting shared on X.

However, August of last year, three months prior to the election, saw a higher number of recruits than in December – 7,415 recruits compared to the 5,877

Then Hegseth said

In January 2025, the Army hit its best recruiting number in 15 YEARS.

But....

January 2025 still has not surpassed August 2024 for the highest monthly count of the past year.

The Defense Department's armed services branches recruited 12.5% more people in fiscal year 2024 than in the year prior.
Director of Military Accession Policy Katie Helland said that the services increased the number of recruits from 200,000 in FY 2023 to 225,000 in FY 2024, which ended September 30.
