question about points after ban
I was banned for 3 months for the horrible reason that I posted off topic in a few threads. FACT, most all threads get off topic, whether it's this site, car sites, gun sites, sports sites. No big deal, I have enough going on that I didn't miss being banned because of an admin with [medical speculation - GM] and on a power trip.
Anyway, say I had 27 points which is over the 25 points allowed. So I get 3 months off. What happens to the points I had, did everything reset to zero or was I allowed back because of the 3 month limit had ended. Did I come back in 3 month because the first infraction (ahem) had expired and coming back I still had 22 points and another 5 pointer gives me another 3 months off?

I believe that points last 6 months on your profile before they expire. Just because you get banned on points, does not mean that all your points are erased, just the ones that have been on your profile for over 6 months.
So, when you come back after your ban and you still have 20+ points, one more infraction will get you another 90 day ban and your other points will be expired, but not the 5 that put you over the ban threshold as that has 3 months remaining.
Remember also that the guidelines are not hard fast rules, they are interpreted by the mods, which is why practically no one ever agrees with the points they receive. If they were set in concrete rules that everyone had to follow, then there would be no question as to why you got points.

The member's profile shows how many points they have and when they expire. A point accumulation of 25 points gets a 90 day ban.
Also, members get the reason why they have received the points , so mods are not interpreting. Any member who gets points gets a description of why they received them. Hope this helps. Thanks

Here's a recent thread that will explain active and inactive points.
Not to be confused with expired and non expired points. Read mine and uc's posts. Should answer your concerns.

We must agree to disagree, and I do realize you're a moderator. There are a lot of grey areas for the infraction of posting off topic. It's inherent that most threads get off topic, and either stay off topic, or they get back on topic. Now if I call a member a motherfucker, then I deserve the points I receive and there are other rules that are basically black and white with no grey area.
Here is another example of grey areas, one stormy night I was making a post about the dangers down at the border and one of the killers of many people [staff edit - DM] . So I typed in that word and got a 10 pointer, which was ridiculous. It's one thing to say [staff edit - DM] and promoting that is being a part of the fun. I was talking about what evils that are happening due to open borders and how people are dying. We can't talk about the evils of parents and teachers grooming...................... ........use your imagination.
The ironic thing about using the word [staff edit - DM] is that after getting the 10 pointer I did a search on the word, and came up with about 40 results. Did everybody who typed in that word get a 10 pointer, or was I singled out by a moderator on a power trip? Here is another search and I came up with 4 pages of results. Did everybody who typed in that sacred word get a 10 pointer, fuck no. Was I singled out by a moderator on a power trip, fuck yes. I'm not above getting points, however I take great exception when I'm singled out and others are getting by with the same infraction. I take great exception to the fact we're all adults [staff edit - DM] Can I talk about coaching little league baseball without a moderator on a power giving me points because I mentioned little league and pull out the talking about [staff edit - DM]
My search on the sacred word. https://www.eccie.net/search.php?searchid=6463873
So delimex007, there are many grey areas in the guidelines.

With this latest tirade I'm surprised your last post didn't result in a ban. It's their world to run as they see fit. Pissing them off certainly doesn't help when you provide little to zero actual intelligence or pay for premium access. Take your points or ban and live with it or don't sign on to eccie. Moderators here are very fair

Incorrect, the guidelines are what they are.
Although on occasion staff may miss something that deserves an infraction, or warning.
