C. Biden approved tariffs are good. Trump approved tariffs are bad.
D. Trump is right, but orange man bad

I said that everything that trump is putting blanket tariffs on, such as all the food we import, will end up being a national sales tax on the individual who needs to buy food.

Tariffs on things that we really should be manufacturing stateside = good. It only effects the industries, and closely related industries, and does not effect everything that consumers buy.

Tariffs on things that everyone needs, like food, is basically a national sales tax.

Or, I will describe it another way.
Lets assume that we import 70% of our TP because it is less expensive to import it from china than to make it here, and we don't have much infra set up to make it here quickly if we needed to, if at all.

We add an import tariff to bling bling toilet paper from china. The tariff is only on the bling bling part. Bling bling TP will go up, but only the rich and people who can afford it will be effected by the tariff. Poor people who shit using 1 ply aren't effected. The tariff does what it should do.
Now, I put a tariff on ALL TP. Suddenly, not only are the rich who enjoy using bling bling TP are paying more (they can, they aren't hurting), so is the poor fuck taking a shit using 1ply.

If the tariffs are going to cost families an extra $5000 a year due to tariffs, well, 5k isn't much when you are millionaire. But 5k is a lot if you are not well off.

Looks like Trump caved again. Backs down with a 30 day pause for tariffs on Canada.

They get to implement a plan they were already implementing, and Trump can pretend he scored a win instead of being laughed at more by the WSJ for the dumbest tariffs ever.

So that's 0-3. Hilarious. Portions of Canada have already begun to boycott U.S. products... so I guess Nectarine Palpatine will need to hope that doesn't continue.

Good job boys.

Appreciate your well thought out response Ona.

Imo Trumps tariffs are always about either leverage to negotiate what he wants or trying to motivate increased manufacturing, jobs, etc in the US. He wants a better USA either way.

Dislike him all you like, he’s the last one willing to tank the US economy but is comfortable playing a game of chicken with some volatility.

This is like revisionist history in real time.

Starting to be hard to take any comments seriously.

This one sparked pushback on one of our most precious commodities, GM.

Bourbon. Canada was our biggest customer internationally. They said FAFO. Cheeto Bandito said, no mas for 30

What do you expect when appointing a [redacted] Czar and 24/7 eyes on the border when only 0.2% of [redacted] seizures occur there and implementing the same $1.3 billion plan you announced months ago freezes the game?

A desperate attempt to save a (bronze in a can) face

Any more winning and HD may run out of excuses and ways to pretend they’re not.

When you threaten tariffs to get someone to pick up the phone instead of picking up the phone, that makes you a loser.

Especially when you get very little for all the bluster.

Any deals to get new jobs? Any companies pulling out to produce domestic? Is Canada trying to become the 51st state or has be started a fire for boycotting our products?

Will he pause on China? If not, don't expect them to change anything. Just prep for plenty of stuff to cost us more.

You mean Trump caved. He got very little he couldn't have gotten with a phone call.

24/7 monitoring that was pretty much already in play. A plan Trudeau already announced. A czar that covers 0.2% of a problem.

Meanwhile, he triggered boycotts and knows there are targeted tariffs coming to places that disproportionately affect his base.

Tariffs to pick up the phone is goofy asf

Speculation.

You don't KNOW, do you?

Its done, starving the people, no wood for the poor houses in Kali, all your whining and crying was over nothing.

What boycotts, Starlink? 68 million, beans.

I mean, we know your going to keep whining about something new tomorrow, but for tonight, its over.

Oh, you haven't been following the news up north.

Plus, Trudeau announced that $1.3 billion in December. Biden gets the win on that one.

Donny just needed to pick up the phone. Instead he had to play Tariff Man to get basically 0 gains on Made in America. No cap
