The big looser in this is the NY legal system. They allowed their Judicial System to be corrupted and used by a Political Party in power to bring an illegitimate prosecution to one of their political rivals.

So true, otherwise the judge would have said the waiver of punishment has nothing to do with you Mr. Trump, it is out of respect for the office that you previously held and will soon hold again.
Oh wait, that is what he said. He avoided punishment only because less than 50% of the population was dumb enough to vote for him, but slightly more than his opponent.
If he hadn't bribed RFK into dropping out he would have lost. RFK wasn't going to win, but he would have taken enough votes from the dumpster that he would have lost.
