I think it was delusion. Most of the people who entered the Capitol on January 6 mistakenly believed the election had been stolen from Trump. Many of them believed they were patriots, like the people who dumped tea into Boston Harbor in 1773.

There are some parallels between January 6 and Waco, where members of the Branch Davidians, a doomsday cult, died from fire and gunshots. That brings up a disagreement with Jacky's post. The Capitol Police did a pretty damn good job compared to the FBI and the ATF in Waco. The police only killed one person. You could easily imagine a dozen dying based on the video footage.

So, was Trump delusional too? Did he believe he was cheated out of the presidency by a large-scale conspiracy conducted by Democratic Party operatives?

To digress for a moment, when I was in my late twenties or early thirties, I met Jacob M. Mellon. The "M" stood for money. Jake was about my age, and already a very successful businessman. I remember visiting him in his office the first time. His legs were stretched up onto his desk, probably intentionally to show off his fancy socks. Behind him there was a copy of "The Art of the Deal," by Donald J. Trump. Jake was a big Trump fan. He'd read a couple of books about him and was modeling himself after Trump.

Jake was a master of buying and selling real estate. The reason was that if you were trying to sell something to him, he'd convince himself what you had was a worthless piece of shit, and he might just talk you into believing that too. And once he'd bought it and was going to flip it, he'd talk himself into truly believing that shit had turned into gold. Jake wasn't a liar, he just bent reality, subconsciously, in ways that benefitted him.

I don't think Trump is like David Koresh, that is to say, bat shit crazy. Rather, I see a lot more of Jake in him than Koresh. When he told the crowd on January 6 to walk down to the Capitol, when he sat in his dining room watching the action unfold on Fox without lifting a finger, I think he truly believed he'd been cheated out of the presidency.

WD, Actually I lied. Lorena whacked off her hubby's wanger on June 23, 1993. I was testing to see if the thought of getting one's penis removed with a knife would result in more "no" votes. That hypothesis appears to be correct.

How a person can believe he was cheated when he had more than a few of his close insiders saying the election was on the up-n-up does not jive.

If anything at all, he has meglomaniac tendencies. Probably an extreme expression but far closer than someone thinking they were wronged.

I've been doing a little homework and I'm convince that January 6 was a set up against Trump. The Democrats wanted to make sure that he would never President again.

1. His speech to his supporters was edited to the public. They wanted you the hear the negative.

2. Trump suggested to mayor of DC To bring in the national guard before the demonstration. Her reply was we got this, the city will control the demonstration.

3. The day of, it was business as usual, no special riot guards.

4. There's been an investigation that shows that the FBI had operatives in the crowd and help start the riot.

5. When the people breach into the capital the guards allowed the innocent folks to walk around. They were highly outnumbered, the people could have taken over.

6. It was a brilliant scheme by the democratic party. This is just my humble opinion.

... The lot of that also happens to be me-own opinion, mate.

And there's a new subcommittee who will be INVESTIGATING
this whole "J6" issue.

... So, we will see - after the investigation - just how
the public will continue to view 6 January in the future.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! DON'T STOP WITH THE J6 STUFF! Throw in some trannies too just for extra leftist traction.

The more you do it, the more you send common sense, working American's RUNNING to our party. Your strategy is great. Don't stop.

Nobody Doubles Down on Stupid Like the Left.
