Do you think January 6 will someday be celebrated as a national holiday?
And will it be callled Ashli Babbitt Day? Or maybe Bobbitt/Babbitt Day? On January 6, 1993, Lorena Bobbitt sliced off her husband’s penis. Coincidence? No way.

No tiny - 1/6 will never be "celebrated". That would be inappropriate and embarrassing. Even to the Shaman or the Proud Boys.
Nor should anyone ever suggest, as Kamala Harris stupidly did, that it is a tragedy akin to 9/11 or 12/7. Her comparison was beyond tone-deaf - it dishonored and was a slap in the face to every American who perished at the World Trade Center or Pearl Harbor.
I expect 1/6 will go down in history as the climax of a hyper-polarized era in our political history. A sad chapter in a book that is still being written.

Wow... was it really 32 years ago? I gotta think most of here (at least the posters who have penises) would choose Ashli over Lorena as a girlfriend. But that's just my guess.

How about Michael Byrd Day.
He is the “hero” who saved our Senators and Representatives by gunning down an unarmed woman.

It will go down as “We don’t give a fuck day” in history. No accountability for the people that caused the most stupid of Americans to bum rush the capitol in an attempt to stop the certification of votes. The reason it’ll be “We Don’t Give A Fuck Day” is because it didn’t change anything. Trumpys think it was ok and not enough people in this great country gave a fuck to make sure that it never occurs again. All it’ll take is for a liar like Trump to tell the ignorant dumbasses that he actually didn’t lose and they’ll again go storming the Capitol.

I have a bit of a different take on this than my good friends LustyLad, Eccieuser and Winn Dixie, who would view January 6 as the climax of a hyper-partisan era or fascist.
I think it was delusion. Most of the people who entered the Capitol on January 6 mistakenly believed the election had been stolen from Trump. Many of them believed they were patriots, like the people who dumped tea into Boston Harbor in 1773.
There are some parallels between January 6 and Waco, where members of the Branch Davidians, a doomsday cult, died from fire and gunshots. That brings up a disagreement with Jacky's post. The Capitol Police did a pretty damn good job compared to the FBI and the ATF in Waco. The police only killed one person. You could easily imagine a dozen dying based on the video footage.
So, was Trump delusional too? Did he believe he was cheated out of the presidency by a large-scale conspiracy conducted by Democratic Party operatives?
To digress for a moment, when I was in my late twenties or early thirties, I met Jacob M. Mellon. The "M" stood for money. Jake was about my age, and already a very successful businessman. I remember visiting him in his office the first time. His legs were stretched up onto his desk, probably intentionally to show off his fancy socks. Behind him there was a copy of "The Art of the Deal," by Donald J. Trump. Jake was a big Trump fan. He'd read a couple of books about him and was modeling himself after Trump.
Jake was a master of buying and selling real estate. The reason was that if you were trying to sell something to him, he'd convince himself what you had was a worthless piece of shit, and he might just talk you into believing that too. And once he'd bought it and was going to flip it, he'd talk himself into truly believing that shit had turned into gold. Jake wasn't a liar, he just bent reality, subconsciously, in ways that benefitted him.
I don't think Trump is like David Koresh, that is to say, bat shit crazy. Rather, I see a lot more of Jake in him than Koresh. When he told the crowd on January 6 to walk down to the Capitol, when he sat in his dining room watching the action unfold on Fox without lifting a finger, I think he truly believed he'd been cheated out of the presidency.
WD, Actually I lied. Lorena whacked off her hubby's wanger on June 23, 1993. I was testing to see if the thought of getting one's penis removed with a knife would result in more "no" votes. That hypothesis appears to be correct.

If you’re John Bobbitt it will never be trivial pursuit.
However, Lorena Bobbitt severed her husband John's penis on June 23, 1993 at their home in Manassas, Virginia.
First responders found his penis in a field after Lorena told them where they could find it.

To clear up any confusion, John Bobbitt's penis did not lie fallow in a field for 168 days, from January 6 until it was discovered on June 23. I lied about the date for research purposes, see end of post #11 above. After cutting off John's penis with an 8 inch Ginsu carving knife, "Lorena left the apartment with the severed appendage and drove away in her car. After a length of time driving and struggling to steer with one hand due to holding the penis, she threw the penis out a window into a roadside field on Maplewood Drive. She eventually stopped and called 9-1-1, telling them what she had done and where the penis could be found."
"John's penis was found after an exhaustive search, and after being washed with antiseptic and packed in saline ice, it was reattached in the hospital where he was treated. The operation took nine and a half hours." With somewhat mixed results.
This was a career maker for John Bobbitt, the best thing that ever happened to him. Apparently some porn fans (women or men??) thought John's mangled penis was a huge turn on. He starred in classic flicks like Frankenpenis, John Wayne Bobbitt Uncut, and the sequel John Wayne Bobbitt's Frankenpenis. He also appeared with Howard Stern who fundraised $250,000 for him, purportedly to offset surgical costs. And that was back when $250,000 was a lot of money!
