Disagree that losing to the 14-1 defending Super Bowl champs is "a complete embarrassment".
But don't worry, it will all be over soon and the haters in here can move on to their next bitch session. I hear the Pens aren't doing so well. Haters love that shit.

You are right…season will be over soon. Exactly 2 games to go.

When the players are saying things like "everyone needs to do their job" and "everyone needs to want it" or blames communication issues in week 17, it screams coaching issues to me.
Since we know Tomlin isn't going anywhere, they need an assistant HC who will lay down the law with the players to offset Tomlin's lack of discipline. Good cop, bad cop.

I like it, but Tomlins ego won’t allow it and Rooney is a pussy.
I found it interesting that this game was the first time I heard national tv broadcasters criticizing Tomlin. The constant end of season breakdowns, lack of postseason success, etc…
One of those broadcasters was TJ Watts brother.

Ok, so this is a question I've posed many times before (IRL, not necessarily in here) and never really get an answer for: who are you going to replace Mike Tomlin with?
Please keep in mind your answer has to be realistic. I.E. someone actually looking for (and qualified for) the job. For example: Bill Belichick is not a realistic answer. He already has a job.

So, you're finally admitting its time for him to go?
Bellechick would have been a very good choice, and to be clear, I HATE him, but I have to admit, he's a good coach.
At this point, anyone, not another experiment in equity, not another "Rooney Rule" choice, but the best guy for the job, which is what I have advocated since day one.
I'd say James Franklin, PSU's coach would be a choice, he's done better with PSU than I ever thought he would.
But we know, the Rooneys hate PSU, and have passed over many good players I believe, because of that bias, sure, they pick a few, but I've seen too many good PSU players go on to have good careers.

Not necessarily, but willing to have the conversation. Even moreso if they lose the next two.
Franklin doesn't impress me. Always has an amazing regular season, then shits the bed against the best teams. Kinda like someone else we know.

James Franklin is an absolutely horrible option! He’s never stepped on a pro field.
I would look for a proven professional offensive mind. The game is no longer about defense and ball control. Ben Johnson would be the type I would consider. He has turned Jared Goff into an MVP candidate.

I can't give you an answer on that but let me ask you this. what were the expectations/qualifications of Chuck Knoll, Bill Cowher, and I'll even through in Mike Tomlin when they were hired?
Just because he is a good coach doesn't mean he is the right coach for this team at this time.
When he was hired a lot of the pieces were in place for a championship caliber team including players and coaches. Who has he replaced them with as they left?
I have said before that I would be in favor of trading him for 2 #1 picks, possibly even a 1 & 2 if he would be in such high demand.

One thing that has to change is Tomlins invincibility. What assistant coach is really going to challenge him? He’s invincible…and that’s on Rooney.
We have one guy doing all the thinking. That’s a recipe for disaster with anyone.

That's pretty much where the conversation goes any time I bring it up.

How about Jim Bob Cooter? Indy coordinator. If for no other reason than his name is Jim Bob Cooter. Lol

You couldn't get six walk ons for him.
Nobody in the NFL celebrates "Mediocrity" unless that's exactly what the owners want.
"Hey guys, lets go out on the field this year, and win one game over 500 hundred for the next decade, for the Gipper".
The agenda has been Mike Tomlin, and nothing else mattered.
Frankly, I have had concerns over the Steelers, ever since they put the muzzle on Cowher, and stopped his swearing, and accompanying passion.
When I see a coach who isn't pissed off and angry over losing, I get concerned.

Maybe that's because we are not owners or GM's whose job it is to identify the candidates.
