Both the impulse to make him into some kind of black hat villain as well as some of us to make him into some kind of white hat hero.
He’s neither. He did the right thing in trying to subdue a mentally disturbed person until the police could arrive but that resulted in the death of that person.
He should be applauded for being a good samaritan but it appears that he’s being venerated not for standing up and doing the right thing with a bad result but instead for pissing off the libs and or killing the “bad guy”.
If it was me I would not want to take on the responsibility for being the poster boy for vigilantism.
