Now THIS makes perfect sense. Democrats have been pushing to get rid of the electoral college and make one-man one-vote meaningful again.
They need to take his phone away.

Trump makes another ridiculous election claim (OK, it’s a lie) about Democrats
Published: Dec. 09, 2024
Despite his decisive victory, President-elect Donald Trump won’t stop making bizarre claims about Democrats.
Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social early Monday that Democrats are pushing to get rid of the popular vote in elections and only use the Electoral College to decide the winner. However, the winner of the White House is already decided by the Electoral College and not the popular vote.
“The Democrats are fighting hard to get rid of the Popular Vote in future Elections. They want all future Presidential Elections to be based exclusively on the Electoral College!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump’s recent claim also sparked some criticism on social media, including by Trump critic Ron Filipkowski.
It’s not clear what Trump meant by eliminating the popular vote and only using the Electoral College, which already decides the winner of the election, as outlined in the Constitution.
The candidate who clinches 270 votes wins the White House. In 48 states, the winner of the popular vote in that state is allocated that state’s electoral votes.
In addition, the popular vote system typically favors Democrats while the Electoral College system tends to favor Republicans. Even though Trump lost the popular vote in 2016, he still won the Electoral College and therefore the presidency.
November’s election marked the first time a Republican won the popular vote in 20 years.
Trump’s claim that Democrats want to eliminate the popular vote also goes against some Democrats’ push to rid the country of the Electoral College. Many
Democrats, including former Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz (D), have actually proposed replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote to elect the president.
There are clear partisan divides on the question of the Electoral College. A recent survey by Pew Research Center found that about eight in 10 Democrats would prefer replacing the Electoral College while just 46 precent of Republicans said the same.
