I honestly was somewhat sympathetic to you because I'm a Patrick Mahomme guy but Cp3( thank s unique) you come across as a very negative person. I see why you got banned before and honestly I would have made the ban for longer if I had my say

OH2 uses Vbulletin Version 4.2.. That version reached end of life in 2017 https://forum.vbulletin.com/forum/vb...te-end-of-life Are you suggesting some AI exists in that version to automate IP blocking? I only found manual steps to block IPs https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/...anning_options Do you recall the Austin member who simply turned his phone to airplane mode then turned it off to acquire a new IP address and create a new user?

@OP a VPN may be a good work around. It may also be intermittent. Who know with a site that is struggling to restore its email for RTMs?

I could not get on one day last week. It kept giving me the banned IP address message.

I had to go to my settings & enter Ourhome2.net as a safe site & that got me right back in.

Ya'll are overthinking this... I seriously doubt that OH2's ancient platform has some AI capability to block IP's - ever think of bandwidth? Instead of "This web site is down, try again later." A "your IP is banned" pops up and everybody runs around like their head and their ass is on fire due to co-location and start screaming about conspiracy theories.

I highly doubt that the sysops for OH2 bought the "scalable" server renting package from AWS, Microsoft Exchange, or Cisco. Probable hosted somewhere where people kill their neighbor's kids and cook them over dried dung 'cause they can -

But that would be pure speculation.

Reason I don't do VPN's is because some sites block the IP's of VPN companies. ALL IP's have to be registered to the company that bought them. So if a basic class C of say 221.134.152.001 -255 was owned by a VPN company just blocking that set means anyone using that VPN can't see your site.

Its like in Texas certain porn sites want you to verify with a government ID that you are old enough.. my concern is that of the 4-5 sites that I used to visit that doing it, they do not seem to use the same company for verification. And I don't trust porn sites who are now wanting to collect real info just to see them.

Way too many other sites out there for free.

Ok.. got a response from CK1942 who stated my IP is NOT blocked
yet I still get the same message. I trust the network message more so the admin.

Did some network voodoo (its what I am trained in) and it *might* be my Uverse.

My home gateway my real world IP is

108.254.154.243

but a Traceroute shows 104.181.196.1

sent to CK to see if IT is blocked.

Let me know if you heard back. I have not been able to get on for several weeks. I travel a lot so have tried from various cities and countries and still get the IP blocked message

my set up is straight forward
Fiber to ethernet box from ATT - Ethernet to their home gateway which I have had for years

What is strange is it shows this IP as its external 108.254.154.243 but this IP shows up as my external when I traceroute 104.181.196.1 which is odd.

CK claims the 108 IP is not blocked, have not heard back on the 104.
