Lot of whining? What thread are you talking bout, Willis? This one? Just a few hours ago you were whining that there weren’t any responses from the loyal opposition.

Seems like you need to make up your mind.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

fair enough . . .

I withdraw the wining complaint but still note that there is no response to the questions.

To refocus on the topic:

Now, will someone explain why sixty years of affirmative action is still not enough preferential treatment?

How about examining the difference in attitude between the incoming indigenous peoples of sub-Saharan Africa and African Americans? What about the incoming people of color from the Carrabine Islands and African Americans?

All I hear from the progressive liberals here is silence on the questions.

If the USA is such a bad place, with such a deplorable history of social injustice, why do these incoming groups of people, indistinguishable from African Americans by appearance, all look on America as the land of opportunity?

And that says it all. . . .and you have made my point.

Preferential treatment in colleg admissions and employment should be abolished in favor of proficiency and performance in academia and the workplace.

If that’s true then you should be horrified by the President’s plans to turn the federal government from a meritocratic institution into a political patronage machine.

Federal employees are more often than not in their jobs because they have proficiency in skills and have passed rigorous performance standards.

By creating schedule F which allows for the termination of federal employment strictly due to political considerations it takes us back to a time when you could buy your self a government job or a military rank.

I have not commented yet on this DEI topic because for the most part I agree with your stance on DEI programs in college.

I agree with the sentiment that good education in the US should require a diverse mix of students and teachers. I’m just not sure that DEI programs are the best option to get it. I also believe that some of the more vocal opponents of DEI use language that make them sound like assholes rather than rational reasoning people.

Of course the same sentiment applies to pro DEI activists as well. Assholes.

You’re a comedian now? The only government job that applies to is the service, not including the officer corps.

I don’t think it’s funny at all. Federal employees shouldn’t have to fear for their jobs merely because a new administration has been voted in to office. But i’m going to stop here because we’re off topic.

And the topic is......

Crockett apparently thinks she is entitled.

She's hyping on oppression. So....
What about the Scottish land clearances by nobility that resulted in significant emigration to the states mid-late 1700s to early 1800s.
What about the Irish emigration late 1700s to mid 1800s due to potato famine and significant economic issues in Ireland. And, in the US history has the Irish as an oppressed race for several decades.
And then the Chinese arriving on the west coast.
All three of these involved quite a bit of indentured servitude.
I'll stop here.
My point being Crockett is clearly forgetful of other races history and as I mentioned to start thinks she is entitled.

Thank you for most of that.

Ok. Please firsdt allow me a trivial quibble in the spirit of Bil Mhar or Jon Stewart: I thought "the president" was still Joe Biden.

Federal employees and merit: I worked at a major Va hospital for 12 years (1991-2003) doing diagnostic imaging with isotopes
referred to as Nuclear Medicine. I worked with ten or so fello technologists. I was the only white guy in the department at my level. Most of my co-workers were competent, Several were defiantly not. In my time there we had three supervisors and two department directors (Doctors). All of them tried to have two particular fellow employees discharged for incompetence and none of them could get it done due to the autocratic regulations, the union and JHR shit.

One other of my fellow technologists couldn't figure out what ten percent of anything was and always needed help with her work.

Don't tell me about a merit based federal workplace.

However, I am glad to see that we do agree on much of this. Merit based education and heiring should not be a political issue in my view.

Hope no one misconstrued my above post.

Of the folks I mentioned were one non arab Orthodox Christian from Egypt, one Sheit Moslem from Pakistan and a Catholic from India. None of them had the work ethic necessary to do good work with our former service men and women. . . .and it showed.

Its obvious you don't deal with Federal employees of virtually ANY kind. If you did, you would know better than to say something so stupid. Sure there are Feds doing valuable work, but 80% of them could be fired without anyone noticing the depletion in services... Most of what they do is shuffling dollars from net producers to net consumers. You don't need the largest employee organization in world history to accomplish that.

Why the hell not? He’s the chief executive, any government employees under the executive branch serve at the president’s pleasure. He should be able to hire or fire whoever he wants.
