No but putting Musk in charge of deregulation is putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

His businesses have to comply with these regulations and he has a large financial incentive to create and follow only those regulations that don’t interfere with his business. Regardless of the outcome to the public at large.

It’s a perfect example of the kind of patronage system that Trump and the conservatives are trying to implement in Washington.

They don’t like the bureaucratic system we have now and are under the illusion that staffing the government with loyalists will somehow make things better.

That's why it's called the Dept. of Government Efficiency.

Because having LOYALISTS there makes it MORE efficient. .... ..

Default This is how seriously congress takes government efficiency!

Comer to create DOGE subcommittee chaired by Marjorie Taylor Greene to work with Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy
Ramaswamy tells Fox News Digital he and his team have already met with Comer and Greene and they 'look forward to working together'
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/com...ivek-ramaswamy

This isn’t about government efficiency but is rather a political witch hunt to root out people they don’t like and recommend them for termination. All run by MTG.

Sounds like McCarthyism to me.

The American Heritage Dictionary gives the definition of McCarthyism as: 1. The political practice of publicizing accusations of disloyalty or subversion with insufficient regard to evidence; and 2. The use of methods of investigation and accusation regarded as unfair, in order to suppress opposition.

oh, except for those communist edicts cos those arent regulations.

50 percent of the wasteful bureaucracy should be summarily fired. as a start.

Default Here is the problem the minority is ducking for their perceived benefit

If you look at the electorate map closely, you will see DC went 90%+ for Harris. DC is surrounded by deep blue states, aka where the DC employees live, as very few live in DC proper.

This skews the party sympathies greatly. As such, moving as many functions out of DC as possible is crucial, as well as right sizing them in the process.

In summary: Expect a chite-ton of squawking and flailing when we start moving things on out of the swamp cesspool.

In other words:

The 15 federal departments are

Department of Agriculture
Department of Commerce
Department of Defense
Department of Education
Department of Energy
Department of Health and Human Services
Department of Homeland Security
Department of Housing and Urban Development
Department of the Interior
Department of Justice
Department of Labor
Department of State
Department of Transportation
Department of the Treasury
Department of Veterans Affair

Which of these should be eliminated? Which should be sent to the state?

I don’t disagree with totally. I would likely get down to about 6-7.

Defense (nukes)
HHS (VA)
Justice (Homeland)
Interior (transportation)
State
Treasury
