It’s already a stalemate and has been for a long time.

The MAGAs can't get out of each others way. They say Biden is a weak President. Then they talk about the authorized missile strikes by NATO inside Russia.......is that weak ? Then they say Russia had to respond.....why, for defensive purposes ? They started this whole conflict and are the aggressor.
They can't deny that Mr. Trump thinks Putin is a genius.
Now they are coming up with some weird comments for deflection.....smh

Of course he’s weak, and he’s stupid which makes him dangerous. Trump is absolutely right, Putin has 1000x the intellect of our current leadership. Thank god they’re on the way out, we might just survive.

We should have authorized the Ukrainians to fight an offensive war immediately after they successfully defended Russias first major offensive. We’ve been slow give them what they needed to execute a full war with Russia. We’ve should have authorized and provided defensive and offensive weapons much earlier.

If the discussion is to turn to what may have been in the past, then this whole war should have never happened. Now over half a million people are dead, predominantly Ukrainian

Why?
In what rational world is it in US strategic interests to aid Ukraine against Russia, when we were responsible for installing the current government there? I know there are some morons in the State department that thought doing so was a great idea, the same as sending Karmela to Europe to openly voice support for Ukraine joining NATO. Putin heard her loud and clear... two weeks later... Here come the Russians.
Its not just stupid its suicidal. Any CASUAL reading of Russian history should educate one on why they tend to be so sensitive about their Western flank. The Equivalent of making Ukraine a part of NATO would be if South Carolina joined the Warsaw pact. DC would not tolerate it, why would the Russians?
This war was a strategic fuck up for the US... unless your strategic goal is to make Europe dependent on American Natural gas (Bye bye Nordstream) and you want to launder billions in cash. So I guess if those were your goals, we should definitely support the Western Ukraine in their bid to bring the ethnic Russins in Eastern Ukraine back under their thumb where they can be lawfully artilleried as was occurrin gprior to the Russian invasion.

the Donbas belongs to Russia anyway. Putin should send the US and NATO a bill for having to take it by force after Zelensky reneged on a succession vote agreed to by the prior Ukraine Government. then the Ukraine to NATO talk. Zelesky provided the dynamite .. the US lit the fuse.

who's being naive? the US reneged on no NATO expansion in the 1990's and Zelesky reneged on the Minsk accord.
Putin isn't the bad guy here .. the US and Ukraine are.
fuck Ukraine. fuck Russia too.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that Putin is trying to grab as much territory and to put as much pressure on the Ukrainians as possible before Trump gets into office.
It gives him more leverage in the negotiations he presumes will happen under Trump. Even pausing the conflict gives everyone time to get entrenched which will make it harder for Ukraine to recapture their lost territory.
Let’s hope that Congress will continue to support Ukraine and our NATO obligations.

fuck Ukraine. what does Ukraine have to do with the US or NATO? Nothing.

- Trump and Putin have had several conversations since the election result.
Yet somehow the MAGAs come up with the idea missles fired off by Ukraine are a way of knuckling under to Russia ? Complete rubbish.
Thanks to Mr. Trump, Ukraine is very likely to lose a lot of its territory. And Russia will learn once again it is a good idea for them to attack neighboring countries.
|
thanks to Biden. stop Trump blaming. holds no water.
you know by now that Ukraine was obligated by treaty to hold a succession vote for the Donbas to join Russia and refused under Zelensky?
well now you do.

Yes you should. Read up on the Revolution of Dignity which is what started this whole thing. The Ukrainian people wanted to be closer to Europe not Russia. After voting out the Russia friendly government Russia responded by invading Crimea. They escalated by trying to overthrow the Ukrainian government in 2022.
This is purely a war of aggression and greed on the part of the Russia oligarchy.

In the West (of Dnepr River) of course they're more closely related to Poles the further West you go. In the East they're Russians.
The Donbas separation was because the ethnic Russians weren't having it with "Maidan". There was no "Dignity" in it for them.
There was no need to poke the bear

That tells me who the bad guy is. Why should Ukraine hold a probable rigged election under the thumb of Russian forces? Sounds like surrender to me.
If they want to give the finger to Putin and Russian oligarchs then more power to them.

read about Minsk II and get back to me.
the only thing "rigged" is the Donbas region is heavily ethnic Russian and for this reason Ukraine reneged on holding the referendum. it was a foregone conclusion the region would vote to join Russia.
try proving that wrong.
