As you know, I'm not a Trump fan. But prior to the 2020 election, what did he do that was that bad? I thought he went way overboard on the tariffs, but other than I don't have a lot of criticism.

You don't have a lot to worry about. He's not as much of an autocrat as you think. And regardless at his age and with American institutions like judicial system, there's not much he could get away with anyway.

The guard rails on the president are contained within our laws and our institutions. Project 2025 means to demolish one and the Supreme court has demolished the other with its executive immunity ruling.

Expect lots of chaos in Washington. Lots of chaos within the separate wings of the republican party.

The election of a Republican president and a Republican Senate will embolden all the ideological factions to put their own agenda before the nation and its people.

I don’t know what will happen next but I don’t expect anything less than internecine warfare in Washington. To the detriment of all of us.

He’s not running for reelection and in his heart he’s more of a social liberal than the majority of his party. He probably learned his lesson from letting the Federalist Society manage Supreme Court appointments. The resulting Dobbs decision could have cost him reelection. Ironic considering he once said he didn’t want to ban partial birth abortion.

I don’t think he’s going to let the Stephen Millers’ and Steve Bannons call the shots.

But admittedly you could be right. Let’s hope not.

He should immediately go on a balls out firing spree at the DOJ. Anyone even remotely connected to the Russia hoax immediately terminated, pension and health insurance revoked and removal of matching funds from their Thrift Savings plan.

Putting the entire country through that farce should come with as heavy a price as possible.
