The biggest lie to comre from a Democrst in my lifetime was spoken by Lyndon Johnson when he announced that a US Navy ship had been attacked at sea by forces of North Viet Nam. Then he announced that he would ask Congress for the power to send huge numbers of troops into South Viet Nam. We went on to lose 50 thousand young men over the next decade or so and it turned our society bitterly inside-out.

Today, South Viet Nam is controlled by the blatantly communist north and Viet Nam is a trading partner.

In the 1990s we learned that none of that was true.
